The aces of the light welterweight delighted the crowd at the Uzbekistan Elite National Championships

The Round of 16 bouts at the men’s light welterweight (63.5kg) delighted the crowd at the Uzbekistan Elite National Championships in Tashkent on Day4.

The first competition day of the Uzbekistan Elite National Championships was January 21 and the finals are scheduled to be held on January 28.

The Uzbekistan Elite National Championships is a selection competition for the main events in 2025 which looks another busy year for all of the boxers.

The Asian Youth Champion Jasmin Tokhirova participates in her first Uzbekistan Elite National Championships and the 18-year-old talent had a successful start against Gavkharoy Rasulova. Another teenager with the same junior and youth pedigree, Uzukjamol Yunusova had a tough but effective battle against Guldana Tileubergenova.

Dilfuza Bekova returned to the national elite team last year and she is aiming for a gold medal at the women’s light welterweight (63kg). She had a hard mission against Ziyoda Yarashova of Bukhara but her main rival, the Tokyo Olympian Raykhona Kodirova also won her contest during the fourth day of boxing.

The Asian Champion and Paris Olympian Navbakhor Khamidova destroyed the defence of another boxer from Ferghana, Shakhzoda Jumanova and the referee stopped their welterweight (66kg) contest in the first round.

The men’s light welterweight (63.5kg) has many aces in the National Championships and firstly their 2023 World Champion, Ruslan Abdullayev secured his place in the next stage. The Asian U22 Champions such as Dilshod Abdumurodov and Abdullokh Madaminov both won their contests on Day4.

Tashkent region’s Adkhamjon Mukhiddinov is the defending ASBC Asian Elite Champion at the men’s light welterweight (63.5kg) and the 22-year-old boxer won his preliminary bout against a dangerous opponent, the former ASBC Asian Schoolboys Champion strong Khumoyunmirzo Abdurasulov.

Jahonmurod Imomaliyev secured his next triumph at the light welterweight (63.5kg), he eliminated Andizhan’s Shokhrukhbek Kenjayev. Another U22 boxer, the CIS Junior Games winner Javokhir Kuysinov won the last quarter-final in this category, he had a strong performance against Dzhizak’s Yuldashali Toshpulatov.

One of the stars at the men’s light middleweight (71kg), Khavasbek Asadullayev had to work hard in his contest on Day4 to beat Rivojiddin Yuldoshev. The next flag bearer of this weight class, the former ASBC Asian Elite Champion Ikboljon Kholdarov also won his contest only by 4:1 split decision over Kamron Shukurjonov as Asadullayev.

Tashkent’s Javokhir Ummataliyev is only 19-year-old but he is the reigning ASBC Asian Elite Champion at the men’s middleweight (75kg). The promising star amazed against Otabek Turdikhudjayev winning the bout unanimously but the World bronze medallist Alokhon Abdullayev also impressed in this weight class.

Bukhara’s Khalimbek Utegenov earned his first ASBC medals as a junior boxer still back in 2015 and he moved up to the middleweight (75kg). The 24-year-old boxer eliminated a strong hope from Andizhan, Ulugbek Sobirov while Sherbek Shokirov, Khusan Rikhsiboyev and Javokhir Abdurakhimov all managed their ways to the quarter-finals.
