The 3rd ASBC Board of Directors Meeting approved the 2023 ASBC Boxing Calendar

The third ASBC Board of Directors Meeting was a very fruitful discussion on several topics in the headquarters of the Asian Boxing Confederation in Bangkok, Thailand. The Managing Director of Green Hill Mr. Abid Jahangir and ASBC President Mr. Pichai Chunhavajira signed a long-term contract in Bangkok, the Board of Directors agreed to support the Pakistan Boxing Federation but the next important topic was the 2023 ASBC Boxing Calendar.

The Asian Boxing Confederation hosted the first historic ASBC Asian U22 Boxing Championships in Tashkent, Uzbekistan this January. The ASBC Asian Youth & Junior Boxing Championships in Amman, Jordan followed this U22 event in March.

The next ASBC Asian Elite Boxing Championships will be held also in Amman from October 30 until November 13. The last continental event, the ASBC Asian Schoolboys & Schoolgirls Boxing Championships will take place in Sulaymaniyah, Iraq at the end of the year. This will be the first ever Asian Boxing Championships for our schoolgirls this year between November 27 and December 4.

The management of the Asian Boxing Confederation and the ASBC Board of Directors approved the 2023 ASBC Calendar during the negotiations in Bangkok. The next year’s most important event will be the postponed Asian Games in Hangzhou, China between September 23 and October 8. The Asian Games will be the first qualification event for our boxers for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.

The first major event in 2023 will be the second edition of the ASBC Asian U22 Boxing Championships for the women and men prospects in January. The boxers who were born in 2001, 2002, 2003 and 2004 will be eligible to participate in the 2023 ASBC Asian U22 Boxing Championships.

A new kind of competition, the ASBC Asian Club Elite Boxing Championships have been added to the 2023 Boxing Calendar. The planning date of the new project is July 2023 after the IBA World Boxing Championships and two months earlier than the Asian Games. More details about this new and exciting Asian Club Championships will be coming soon to inform the affiliated National Federations.

The planning date of the 2023 ASBC Asian Youth & Junior Boxing Championships is August 1-14 and the venue of the event to be confirmed. The 2005-2006 age group will be able to compete in the youth part of the competition and the younger 2007-2008 born boxers in the junior championships next August.

The next ASBC Asian Schoolboys & Schoolgirls Boxing Championships fully fixed in the 2023 Calendar, the event will take place in Saudi Arabia on October 1-7. Boxers who were born in 2009 and 2010 will be able to participate in the 2023 ASBC Asian Schoolboys & Schoolgirls Boxing Championships in Saudi Arabia. The ASBC Asian Elite Grand Slam Boxing Championships will return to the agenda after four years of break and will feature in China on 2023 December.
