Thailand’s official Mr. Chaiwat Chotima – “We are hoping top results in 2019 following our amazing successes in 2018”

Thailand hosted several ASBC events in the recent five years in high quality and the country will be organizer of the ASBC Asian Confederation Elite Boxing Championships this April. The General Secretary of the Thailand Boxing Association Mr. Chaiwat Chotima introduced Thailand’s superb successes, hospitality and their preparation for 2019.
Mr. Chaiwat Chotima is proud of Thailand’s strong development, the efforts of their young boxers and their target is to host more international competitions in the upcoming years. Thailand’s management leads the Southeast Asian boxing power to continuous successes in 2019. Mr. Chaiwat Chotima presented Thailand’s big future goals and their strategic plans during an interview which was held in Bangkok.
“We had a very successful year in 2018, we are so amazed to see our young hopes to win many of medals in the big events. Our international results were the best one in 2018 in comparison to the previous years.
We had an amazing ASBC Asian Confederation Youth Boxing Championships in Bangkok last April where the team claimed four gold medals which were over our expectations. Our youth boxers continued their strong series in the Budapest 2018 AIBA Youth World Boxing Championships and in the Buenos Aires 2018 Youth Olympic Games.
This success was the result of our projects which we launched in 2013 to develop our younger generations. We focused to our junior and youth boxers a few years ago to build up a better future. We were fully confident the success of our long term projects and after five years our hard work paid off in the youth level.
We have strong strategic plans to transfer these amazing youth results to the elite level and we think 2020 will be the key year for us. Our main goal will be coming only in 2024 when all of our projects will be finalized to reach our dreams.
The Thailand International Open Boxing Tournament was not an invitational competition anymore. We opened the participation for all of the countries of the world to reach the maximum number of competitors in the event. Everything was running smoothly in all of our events following Mr. Kraitach Kaewkate and his team worked hard for the success of the competitions and they had the experiences how to make it.
We will be hosting the ASBC Asian Confederation Elite Boxing Championships for the men boxers and at the very first time for the women athletes together. The venue of the continental event will be the well-known Huamark Stadium in April.
We are planning to host the Thailand Open Boxing Tournament in July with top boxers and this time we move the event to the city center of Bangkok where we booked already the National Stadium. All of the participants will have the chance to visit our top sightseeing in Bangkok and enjoy the Thai hospitality.
We will be attending in several international competitions in the upcoming months including the Golden Girl Box Cup, the Bocskai Memorial Tournament, the Shopokov Memorial Tournament, the Strandja Memorial Tournament and many others in Asia and in Europe as well.
We will be hosting dual matches in Thailand with strong nations a few times in 2019 to raise the experiences for our bests and the younger generation. In one of our long term projects Bangkok will be the capital of boxing as soon as our International Training Centre will be built up.
Our professionals will be managing Youth Olympic Champion Atichai Phoemsap with special preparation this year. We are hoping top results in 2019 and fully focusing to the most important year in our cycle,”
said Thailand Boxing Association’s General Secretary Mr. Chaiwat Chotima in Bangkok.
