Teenage star Makhmud Sabyrkhan opened his elite campaign with a superb success at the Republic of Kazakhstan President’s Cup

The third competition day of the 7th edition of the Republic of Kazakhstan President’s Cup realized that the medallists remained in action in the capital city of the Central Asian boxing power in Nur-Sultan. Kazakhstan’s teenage talent Makhmud Sabyrkhan is attending in his first elite competition but he defeated his tough Mongolian rival by large margin of differences.
The gold, silver and bronze medalists will be received money prizes at the Republic of Kazakhstan President’s Cup. The following nations are attending in the Republic of Kazakhstan President’s Cup in Nur-Sultan: Algeria, Bulgaria, China, Georgia, India, host Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Mongolia, Philippines, Russia, Syria, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan. Three Confederations the Asian, the European and the African will be represented their bests in the upcoming international event in Nur-Sultan.

Kazakhstan’s top three female flyweight (51kg) boxers as AIBA Women’s World Boxing Championships silver medallist Zhaina Shekerbekova, two-time AIBA Women’s Youth World Boxing Championships bronze medallist Zhansaya Abdraimova and double AIBA Women’s World Champion Nazym Kyzaibay all won their contests on Day3. Shekerbekova won all of the rounds in each scorecard against Russia’s 19-year-old Liubov Sharapova, Abdraimova eliminated India’s Vanlal Duati before Kyzaibay had to do her very best to beat Uzbekistan’s Tursunoy Rakhimova.

China and Russia impressed in the women’s part of the President’s Cup on Day3
China’s Gan Yuanmei is a guaranteed medallist at the women’s featherweight (57kg) following her success over Mongolia’s Nergui Oyun-Erdene. The second strong Chinese success on Day3 was achieved by Cologne Boxing World Cup winner Yang Liu who defeated Kazakhstan’s Bayan Akbayeva at the welterweight (69kg). The Russians are also arrived to Nur-Sultan with tough woman team and their EUBC European Confederation Women’s Boxing Championships silver medallist Daria Abramova (57kg), Anastasia Selina (60kg), Strandja Memorial Tournament winner Elmira Azizova (69kg) and Elena Gapeshina (75kg) all won contests in the third competition day.

Kazakhstan’s ASBC Asian Junior Champion and AIBA Youth World Boxing Championships bronze medallist Makhmud Sabyrkhan is attending in his first elite competition in Nur-Sultan but he impressed all judges in the quarter-finals. The teenage talent had to meet with Mongolia’s Nurlan Askhar who eliminated Algeria’s AIBA World Boxing Championships silver medallist Mohamed Flissi in the opening round of the men’s flyweight (52kg) causing a big surprise in the President’s Cup. Sabyrkhan controlled all of the rounds in their contest and advanced to the last four following the main favourite Saken Bibossynov also won his quarter-final on Day3.

Kazakhstan’s Ablaikhan Zhussupov dominated his second fight in Nur-Sultan
Kazakhstan’s Youth Olympic Games winner Ablaikhan Zhussupov achieved bronze at the Hamburg 2017 AIBA World Boxing Championships and he proved excellent performance this year. The 22-year-old Rio Olympian dominated his first fight against a tough Algerian boxer and repeated that world class performance on Day3. His opponent was Kyrgyzstan’s Daniyar Damirdin Uulu but his neighbouring opponent was not able to stop his attacks in the quarter-final bout. Besides to Zhussupov, Uzbekistan’s Fazliddin Meliboev, Kazakhstan’s 19-year-old Talgat Shayken and India’s Duryodhan Singh Negi advanced to the last four.

Uzbekistan’s Rajabboy Atanazarov is the new sensation of the middleweight (75kg)
Uzbekistan’s Rajabboy Atanazarov was gold medallist in the 2017 ASBC Asian Confederation Youth Boxing Championships but he is not an experienced boxer at the elite middleweight (75kg) yet. The 20-year-old Uzbek boxer eliminated India’s former ASBC Asian Junior Champion Prayag Chauhan on Day2 and defeated Algeria’s Sofiane Tabi in the third competition day with top performance. Kazakhstan’s ASBC Asian Champion Tursynbai Kulakhmet was too quick for China’s Guo Honglei while Russia’s Vadim Tukov and Uzbekistan’s Odiljon Aslonov are also semi-finalists in Nur-Sultan.
