Strong ASBC medallists on the top of the Khayrutdinov Women’s Youth & Junior Tournament in Almaty

The Khayrutdinov Women’s Youth & Junior Memorial Tournament was held in Almaty which was the former capital city of Kazakhstan. The most experienced youth boxers of the host country such as Anel Kudaybergen, Yerkezhan Dauletzhankyzy, Maya Beysebayeva and Gulsaya Yerzhan were the bests besides to the Uzbek gold medallists.
Almaty organized the AIBA World Boxing Championships for the men’s elite boxers in 2013 and the city is the traditional host of the Khayrutdinov Memorial Tournament. Kazakhstan achieved plenty of medals in the women’s youth international competitions in 2018 including Dina Islambekova’s gold at the Budapest 2018 AIBA Women’s Youth World Boxing Championships.
Altogether more than 150 athletes including 67 youth and 86 junior boxers attended in the Khayrutdinov Women’s Youth & Junior Memorial Tournament in Almaty. Uzbekistan’s best female youth and junior boxers also attended in the competition besides to all regions of Kazakhstan in Almaty.
Anel Kudaybergen achieved bronze medal in the Bangkok 2018 ASBC Asian Confederation Women’s Youth Boxing Championships and she repeated that performance in the Budapest 2018 AIBA Women’s Youth World Boxing Championships as well. The 17-year-old talent defeated Dzhambul region’s Mariya Kudikina and won the first youth title at the light flyweight (48kg) in Almaty.
Almaty’s Anel Sakysh is 16 but her skills were enough to dominate her final at the women’s flyweight (51kg) over Aiym Zhumabay which bout was stopped by the referee in the second round. Almaty’s Karina Ayzakhmetova, who attended in Ukrainian and Bulgarian international events, won the Khayrutdinov Memorial Tournament two years ago and she repeated that performance following her close success over Moldir Toikova.
Yerkezhan Dauletzhankyzy earned a valuable silver medal in the Bangkok 2018 ASBC Asian Confederation Women’s Youth Boxing Championships but she had to meet with another national team member Almaty’s Maria Gladkova in the final of the featherweight (57kg). The 17-year-old Dauletzhankyzy impressed in their final and maintained the best fighting distance successfully against her strong rival.
Astana’s Dilnaz Yerbolova is not an experienced boxer but she was able to beat Almaty region’s Dilnaz Bayzak in the final of the lightweight (60kg) winning the bout by RSC. The next title was achieved by Dzhambul region’s Youth National Championships silver medallist Balzhan Askar who was too experienced to Almaty region’s Ulzhanay Mamutova.
Shymkent’s Maya Beysebayeva achieved silver medal in the Bangkok 2018 ASBC Asian Confederation Women’s Youth Boxing Championships this April therefore her success over Akerke Agikova was not a surprise. Astana’s Aray Musina had to meet in the final of the youth middleweight (75kg) with Uzbekistan’s 16-year-old Khadija Abdullayeva but her neighbouring rival was too strong for her.
Almaty’s Eldana Talipova won the Golden Girl Junior Box Cup in Sweden and she ranked No.2 in the voting of the Best of the Asians but she was not enough experienced yet to beat Youth National Champion Gulsaya Yerzhan in the final of the light heavyweight (81kg). Dzhambul region’s Zhanat Nursultankyzy won the title of the Khayrutdinov Memorial Tournament in 2016 and she repeated that success after beating Kyzyl-Orda’s Asel Sagatova in the final of the heavyweight (+80kg).
