Stay Safe and Stay Active are the most important messages of the ASBC Back to Ring Webinar which was held at the weekend

The Asian Boxing Confederation’s new project the Back to the Ring Webinar was held on Saturday evening and many of the officials and stakeholders followed it from each of the Asian region to Stay Safe and Stay Active. The training rules, the contact and non-contact training objectives, the precautionary measures and all other safety instructions were introduced during the Back to the Ring Webinar.

The important ASBC project was live streamed in the Asian Boxing Confederation’s YouTube channel on August 29. The Medical Commission member of the Asian Boxing Confederation and Boxing Federation of India’s Medical Commission member, Dr. Karanjeet Singh led the Back to the Ring Webinar project.  

The WHO declared the coronavirus outbreak and the highest alarm on January 30 in 2020 and it was named as pandemic on March 11. The symptoms are already well-known worldwide, included fever, cough, shortness of breath, sore throat and some other things like loss of the taste detection. Precautionary measures like wear a mask, wash your hands and keep social distance are required during this period.

Among all infected people worldwide 25% are Asian cases which is less than the continent’s population percentage in comparison to the global figures. More than 50% of all Asian cases relates to India but Iran, Saudi Arabia, Pakistan and Bangladesh have also high number of infections.

Make the necessary medical tests, sterilization of the training areas, remind the participants to sanitize hands, clear rules for using training methods are they key elements of the general objectives of the training camps. Temperature of the participants should not exceed 37.5 degrees, use only your personal belongings, set a training timing, sanitation of all equipment before and after of use, utilization of maximum 50% of total capacity, and bring your own beverage to the training sessions are the most important factors.

The coaches have to follow the rules and check their boxers to maintain social distances, wear masks, the training equipment are safe, control the hygienic protocol, limit the access to the gym by non-essential people, and other important safety instructions. If a boxer has got symptoms, chronically ill, he/she had contact with infected people, did not have any tests from the last two weeks, are restricted to join to the trainings.

In general, the Back to the Ring Webinar contained several theoretical and practical medical guidelines for the stakeholders, boxers and officials to return to the sport events and to the ring safely. All of the participants will be received a certificate which to be sent to the registered email addresses in the upcoming days. The Back to the Ring Webinar was free of charge for all participants and the limited places are reserved only for the Asian attendees.
