Sahedov continued his winning path in the Turkmenistan National Championships on Day2

The second competition day of the Turkmenistan National Championships was held in their capital city in Ashgabat where President of the Asian Boxing Confederation and AIBA Vice-President Mr. Serik Konakbayev followed the bouts. Turkmenistan’s biggest hopes as Yakub Meredov, Hursand Imankuliyev and Muhammetmyrat Sahedov won their contests against strong rivals on Day 2.
The Turkmenistan Elite National Championships is holding for their talents in the capital city in Ashgabat which hosted the 5th Asian Indoor & Martial Arts Games last September. The President of the Turkmenistan Boxing Federation Mr. Alen Shyhyyev invited Mr. Serik Konakbayev and Russian boxing stars as Dennis Lebedev, Oleg Saitov and Oleg Taktarov in to the Turkmenistan National Boxing Championships.
Turkmenistan started to develop women boxing in 2009 but after a few years without any female competition in the country their National Federation re-launched it last year. Altogether fifteen women boxers are competing in their National Championships and the first female bout was won by Lebap’s Selbi Kuvuseva who defeated Ashgabat’s Alyona Durova at the bantamweight (54kg) on Day 2.
ASBC Asian Confederation Youth Boxing Championships quarter-finalist Begench Alymov is only 20 but he was enough strong to beat Lebap’s Seyitjan Babajanov in the first quarter-final of the bantamweight (56kg). Islamic Solidarity Games silver medallist Yakub Meredov of Ashgabat is the top favourite of this category who shocked his four years younger rival Bayramkhan Permanov winning that bout by unanimous decision.
Turkmenistan’s Hursand Imankuliyev is member of the national team since 2012 when he was still a junior boxer and he shined in the Sofia 2014 AIBA Youth World Boxing Championships. The 21-year-old boxer began his campaign against former National Cup winner Shokhrat Jumayev and used the best tactic to beat his experienced opponent in the first round of the lightweight (60kg) in Ashgabat.
Imankuliyev’s main rivals at the lightweight (60kg) could be Arslan Urunov of Lebap and Yazmyrat Gurbanov of Ashgabat in the current National Championships. Urunov, who competed mainly in youth international events during his career, launched lethal punches against Saparmammet Saryyev and proved tough performance. Gurbanov, who was member of the Turkmen national team as junior and youth boxer, defeated former National Champion Timur Halilov in a spectacular contest.
ASBC Asian Confederation Junior Boxing Championships bronze medallist Muhammetmyrat Sahedov won their National Championships and National Cup in the recent one year and the 20-year-old boxer showed his strength in the first competition day. Sahedov, whose father is an experienced R&J in the international competitions, knocked out National Cup winner Kerim Esenmuradov in the first round and defeated another experienced boxer, Bahadur Myratov in the quarter-final.
Sahedov’s main opponents at the welterweight (69kg) could be ASBC Asian Confederation Youth Boxing Championships quarter-finalist Serdar Amangeldiyev and ASBC Asian Confederation Elite Boxing Championships quarter-finalist Timur Tajimov. Both boxers delivered extra performance in the second competition day and defeated their rivals, 19-year-old Resul Myratdurdyyev and Rahim Atabayev.
