Rukhafzo Khaknazarova defeated Sumaiya Kosimova in the top final bout of the Tajikistan Women’s National Spartakyad

The women’s finals were held in the Tajikistan National Spartakyad in Dushanbe where 10 champions have been crowned. The capital city of the country, Dushanbe and the boxers from the Khatlon region won all of the female gold medals in the Spartakyad. One of the most anticipated battle in the event was won by Rukhafzo Khaknazarova who defeated her main rival Sumaiya Kosimova this time.

The women boxers can compete in ten weight categories from the light flyweight (48kg) up to the heavyweight (+81kg) in the Spartakyad. The National Spartakyad welcomed record number of female participants in Dushanbe which is part of their development programs women’s boxing.

Tajikistan claimed four bronze medals in the last edition of the ASBC Asian Elite Boxing Championships in Dubai, United Arab Emirates where two of their girls and boys succeeded.  The women’s finals were important for the selections of the upcoming major championships.

Boxers who were born in 1981 and in 2002 are eligible to attend in the Tajikistan National Spartakyad in Dushanbe. The national event is their next selection before the AIBA World Boxing Championships which is scheduled to be held in Belgrade, Serbia between 26 October and 6 November.

The first final was held between Khatlon region’s and Dushanbe’s hopes, Khusniya Kholova and Sayora Boboyorova at the light flyweight (48kg). As expected the defending champion Kholova won the first gold medal of the National Spartakyad.

One of the most anticipated female final took place at the flyweight (51kg) where Sumaiya Kosimova and Rukhafzo Khaknazarova met in a re-match once again. Kosimova and Khaknazarova both attended at the ASBC Asian Elite Boxing Championships in Dubai. The defending champion Kosimova was not able to maintain the best fighting distance this time and Khaknazarova won their final in the Spartakyad.

Nasiba Sharifzoda is a young hope in Tajikistan who won her elite national title after beating 19-year-old Nigora Olimova in the final of the bantamweight (54kg). ASBC Asian Women’s Boxing Championships bronze medallist Mizhgona Samadova of Dushanbe dominated the next final against teenage hope Zukhro Mengliyeva of Sughd region and won the title of the featherweight (57kg).

Dushanbe’s next boxer, Tajikistan’s No.1 female hope, two-time ASBC Asian Women’s Boxing Championships bronze medallist Shoira Zulkaynarova was too smart for Shakhlo Rakhimova in the final of the lightweight (60kg). Youth National Champion 19-year-old Malika Nozimova impressed in the next final against Farizamo Abdurakhimova and earned the title of the light welterweight (64kg).

Nilufar Boboyorova was quarter-finalist at the 2019 AIBA Women’s World Boxing Championships and she had all of the experiences to control her final at the welterweight (69kg) against Mavzuna Yatimova. Farzona Karimova was the main favourite at the middleweight (75kg) but she lost her semi-final contest in the Spartakyad therefore the gold medal went to Mekhrinoz Muzafarzoda who defeated Tamano Mirzoyeva. The last two titles were achieved by Mavluda Odinayeva (81kg) and Davlat Shakhnozai (+81kg).
