Rakhmonov, Kudratov, Tojiyev and Rasulov won their next titles in the Uzbekistan Junior National Olympiad

The Uzbekistan Junior National Olympiad which is their Olympic Reserve School Boxing Championships was held in Tashkent which competition was a five-day long event. Davron Rakhmonov, Murodjon Kudratov, Azizbek Tojiyev and Abdulaziz Rasulov won their Junior National Championships earlier this year and they repeated that performance in the new national event as well.
Boxers who were born in 2003 and in 2004 were eligible to attend in the Uzbekistan Junior National Olympiad. Altogether fourteen weight classes were scheduled in the event which was also preparation for the upcoming ASBC Asian Junior Boxing Championships. The continental event is scheduled to take place in Fujairah, United Arab Emirates this October and record number of boxers are expected to take part.
The first gold medal of the whole event was achieved by Mukhammadrizokhon Isakhanov who defeated Chyrchyk’s Davronbek Khodjakulov in the final of the 44kg weight class while Junior National Champion Khasan Orazaliyev claimed only bronze medal. Andizhan’s Ibratbek Davlatov won the pinweight (46kg) following his surprise success over Chyrchyk’s Bekzod Kholdorov in the final.
Namangan’s Kobiljon Abdurakhimov delivered a small surprise in the final of the light flyweight (48kg) where he defeated Andizhan’s Junior National Championships silver medallist Lochinbek Ikhvolov. Chyrchyk’s super talented sensation Aydos Tagaybayev moved up two categories and attended at the flyweight (50kg) in the Junior National Olympiad where Mr. Farrukh Kilichev’s pupil was too quick for Navoy’s Jakhongir Ibodullayev in the semi-finals and Ferghana’s Khondamir Abdurasulov.
Davron Rakhmonov claimed the gold medal in the Uzbek Junior National Championships and continued his winning path in the next event beating Andizhan’s Nodirbek Soyibov. Yuldoshali Toshpulatov attended several events in the recent one year and those experiences paid off in the Junior National Olympiad where he was too strong for Namangan’s Yokubjon Tursunboyev at the bantamweight (54kg).
Dzhizak’s reigning Junior National Champion Murodjon Kudratov performed also strongly and succeeded against Khorezm’s Diyorbek Navruzov at the featherweight (57kg). Andizhan’s second gold medal was achieved by Asilbek Mukhammadjonov who defeated Khorezm’s Asadbek Aminov at the lightweight (60kg). Kashkadarya’s Junior National Champion Azizbek Tojiyev continued his winning path and controlled his final against Andizhan’s Mirzomakhmat Mirzobekov.
Andizhan’s boxing schools are famous not only in Uzbekistan but out of the country as well and their third title in the event was won by Junior National Champion Abdulaziz Rasulov who eliminated Ferghana’s Asadbek Safarov in the semi-final of the welterweight (66kg) and defeated also Samandar Jalolov in the final.
Kashkadarya’s second gold medal was taken by Junior National Championships silver medallist Azizbek Samadov who had a tough final against Andizhan’s Ayubkhon Khoshimov. Junior National Championships silver medallist Sardor Rakhmonberdiyev is a strong future hope from Chyrchyk therefore his success over Ferghana’s Khotamjon Mukhammadjonov was an expected result from the middleweight (75kg).
Namangan’s Mirzajon Akhmedov had tough road to the final of the light heavyweight (80kg) but he was still enough fresh to beat Bukhara’s Akhmatjon Akhmadov. Ali Nuranov has got strong family connections to boxing who controlled all of his fights in the absence of the main favourite Jakhongir Zokirov at the heavyweight (+80kg). The 16-year-old boxer triumphed over Namangan’s Saidakbar Sobirjonov in the last 14th final in Tashkent.
