Nine teams won the 18 titles of the Iranian Schoolboys National Championships in Zahedan

The Iranian Schoolboys National Championships was held in the city of Zahedan where record number of young talents attended for the titles in 18 different weight categories. The local boxers amazed the crowd in Zahedan where Morteza Rigi, Masoud Azizpour, Mohammad Amin Shakhbakhsh and Mohammad Hossein Azizi all won the titles.
The Iranian Schoolboys National Championships was held in Baluchestan Province of Iran and our sport returned to the region after previous national events. The competition was taking place with the participation of 261 young men boxers therefore the Iranian Schoolboys National Championships was be one of the biggest Asian schoolboy events in 2018.
Boxers who were born in 2004 and in 2005 were eligible to take part in the Iranian Schoolboys National Boxing Championships in Zahedan. The best boxers of the first Iranian Schoolboys National Boxing Championships were invited to various training camps under the supervision of experienced coaches of the country.
The Iranian Boxing Federation’s main target is the 2022 Youth Olympic Games which will be held in the African continent in Dakar and the venue was decided by the International Olympic Committee last month. The 2004-2005 age groups will have the right to attend in the boxing tournament of the 2022 Youth Olympic Games according to the current rules.
Nine different teams claimed at least one gold medal in the Iranian Schoolboys National Championship. The Sistan & Baluchestan province won the team rankings with their six gold medals just ahead Gilan and Kordestan. Further boxers from the squads of Mazandaran, Ardabil, Khuzestan, Boushehr, Hamadan and Azerbaijan Sharghi also won at least one gold medal in the Iranian Schoolboys National Championships.
Morteza Rigi has got strong family connections to boxing and he was able to win the first gold medal of the Iranian Schoolboys National Boxing Championships in Zahedan following his success over Amir Reza Rezaei in the final of the 36kg. Masoud Azizpour is also a top talent in Iran who demonstrated his power in the title bout of the 38kg against Mohammad Taha Aeinin.
The third gold medal of the Iranian Schoolboys National Boxing Championships was achieved by Aidin Karami at the 40kg weight class. Elyas Dara (42kg), Emad Gergich (44kg), Saleh Noteizehi (46kg) and Mohammad Khoroji Tomboli (48kg) all won their weight classes by large margin of differences.
Mohammad Amin Shakhbakhsh was also arrived from a classic boxing family and his powerful performance was enough to beat Fardin Seyedzaei in the final of the light bantamweight (52kg). Following his superb performance Saleh Noteizehi’s brother Khaled won the bantamweight (54kg) final against Alireza Baratalipour. Mohammad Hossein Azizi (63kg), Amir Reza Khazaei (70kg), Arman Mirzaei (80kg) and Aryan Saedpanah (+80kg) were also proved their technique in Zahedan.
