Nepal’s new male sensation Chandra Tamang won the special award, a motorbike at the Bagmati Province Boxing Championships

Nepal is very active in the Asian boxing map, they hosted a strong money prize event in the recent days where high number of boxers competed for the medals and awards. Chandra Tamang won the Best Men’s Boxer Award in their new competition and not only won the title of the welterweight (69kg) he got a motorbike for his performance.

The Nagarjun Boxing Sports Committee was the host of the Bir Ganeshman Singh Bagmati Province Boxing Championships where fourteen champions have been crowned including six women athletes. All of the gold, silver and bronze medallists earned money prizes from the local organizers besides to their medals.

Ramisha Shrestha won the Best Woman Boxer Award while Chandra Tamang became the hero in the men’s part of the Bir Ganeshman Singh Bagmati Province Boxing Championships. Chandra Tamang knocked out Ashutosh Mulmi in the first round of their contest at the welterweight (69kg) and advanced to the quarter-finals. He defeated Manish Dangol by unanimous decision in the quarter-finals which guaranteed his medal in the Bagmati Province Boxing Championships. He continued his winning path against Santosh Khatri in the semi-finals which was ended by the referee before the final gong. Tamang controlled also his final contest over Karan Singh Thakuri and won the gold medal, furthermore the special award, the motorbike in Nagarjun.
