Mr. Wayne Rose – The level of the ASBC Asian U22 Boxing Championships was extremely high

Mr. Wayne Rose worked as Observer in the recent ASBC Asian U22 Boxing Championships in Tashkent, Uzbekistan where he was responsible for the work of the Evaluators and the fair refereeing. He summarized his experiences, the work of the referees, officials, the local organizers and several other aspects of the championship.

Mr. Wayne Rose was the Technical Delegate of the Ulan-Ude 2019 AIBA Women’s World Boxing Championships and he worked dozens of top international events in the recent years. He was appointed to work in several Asian events and he has the experience to officiate these competitions in the highest possible level.

“Considering the unfortunate lack of countries and boxers before the start of the competition, the level of the ASBC Asian U22 Boxing Championships was extremely high with top quality of boxing in Tashkent.

The number of the talents in the Asian continent are endless, however for me Tajikistan’s Davlat Boltayev impressed so much. He not only defeated a top Uzbek boxer in the semi-finals but he also dominated his final bout in Tashkent.

The Uzbek Local Organising Committee worked exceptional in this ASBC Asian U22 Boxing Championships. Working again internationally and being part of a successful championship was amazing experience for me. Meeting and working with exceptional ITOs and Referees & Judges was excellent comeback.

I was the Lead Evaluator and Observer in Tashkent, overseeing the work of the Evaluators and Referees & Judges to ensure a high and consistent standard of judging and refereeing during the whole ASBC Asian U22 Boxing Championships. My next event will be in Australia, I will be the Technical Delegate in our National Selection Tournament for the 2022 Commonwealth Games and 2022 IBA Women’s World Boxing Championships,” added to the Tashkent edition, Australia’s experienced boxing official, Mr. Wayne Rose.
