Mr. Serik Konakbayev attended in the AIBA EC Meeting
President of the Asian Boxing Confederation and Vice-President of AIBA Mr. Serik Konakbayev attended in the AIBA Executive Committee Meeting today which was held in the rest day of the Doha 2015 AIBA World Boxing Championships.
Dr. Ching-Kuo Wu the AIBA President welcomed all of the participants of the AIBA Executive Committee Meeting in the opening part of the negotiations in Doha. The bidding cities of the 2017 AIBA World Boxing Championships showed their presentations and following that the AIBA Executive Committee decided the venue of the competition which will be the first milestone in the road to the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.
The winner of the bidding process became Hamburg which city hosted a program in the Cycle I in the AIBA Pro Boxing and also aiming to host the 2024 Olympic Games. Another German city Munich was the host of the AIBA World Boxing Championships firstly in 1982 and following that Berlin was the capital of boxing in 1995 where Asia claimed three medals.
The further topics of the meeting were the updates from the Special Ad Hoc Commissions, the Audit in the World Series of Boxing while the members of the Executive Committee approved the financial report. The closing remarks has done by AIBA President Dr. Ching-Kuo Wu the EC Meeting in Doha.
