Mr. Caulfield and Mr. Srichaisawat led the AIBA 3-star Referee & Judge Course during the Asian Games Test Event

The 3-star AIBA Referee & Judge Course was held during the boxing tournament of the Asian Games Test Event in the Indonesian capital in Jakarta. India was the most successful nation in the boxing event while seven Referees & Judges from our continent attended in the important Course in Jakarta.
The AIBA examiners were Mr. Andrew Caulfield of Scotland and Mr. Paiboon Srichaisawat of Thailand who both worked as Referee & Judges in several big events as the Olympic Games and AIBA World Boxing Championships. As AIBA Referee & Judge Instructors both led several previous courses and used their experiences to do successful theoretical and pragmatic lessons for the participants in Jakarta.
Twelve applicants were involved to the 3-star AIBA Referee & Judge Course and among them seven were Asians. Besides to the Indonesian duo Dony Rahadian and Kristopel Sinaga, Kyrgyzstan’s woman applicant Zhamila Borkoeva, Mongolia’s Tsogtgerel Tserenkhand, Philippines’ Ludy Therese Ceriales, Chinese Taipei’s Chang Yu Ling and Thailand’s Karn Naklam were attended in the courses.
Jakarta will be the host of the upcoming Asian Games which will be taking place from August 18 until September 2 therefore the Test Event was useful for the local organizers, the coaches, boxers and to the Referees & Judges to feel the atmosphere of the venue. Boxing is a traditional sport in the official program of the Asian Games and all of our continents’ best boxers have been preparing hard to be competitive in the multisport event in August.
