Latypov, Tashiyev and Rustambek Uulu had quick RSC triumphs at the Istanbul Bosphorus International Boxing Tournament

The Istanbul Bosphorus International Boxing Tournament continued with its second competition day in Turkey where more than 50 contests have been scheduled on Day2. Kyrgyzstan’s young duo as Zhantoro Tashiyev and Nuradin Rustambek Uulu, furthermore Bahrain’s Denys Latypov all won their contests by quick RSC victories.

Among the Asian National Federations, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, India, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Palestine and Bahrain sent teams to the Istanbul Bosphorus International Boxing Tournament. More than 30 nations are attending in the elite event which is another highlight in the month of March.

Kazakhstan’s Angelina Lukas represented her country at the Asian & Oceanian Olympic Boxing Qualifying Event in Amman but she was not able get a quota place for Tokyo. The 24-year-old Kazakh used her excellent technical skills against Argentina’s Sofia Robles and advanced to the last eight. Kazakhstan’s second hope in that weight category, two-time AIBA Women’s World Champion Nazym Kyzaibay eliminated Ukraine’s Olha Shalimova by large margin of differences at the flyweight (51kg).

India’s Sonia Lather Singh claimed silver medal at the Astana 2016 AIBA Women’s World Boxing Championships. She returned in excellent shape one and half year ago to the top national team and used her impressive attacks against Turkey’s Tugcenaz Surmeneli in the preliminary round of the women’s featherweight (57kg). Uzbekistan’s ASBC Asian Youth Boxing Championships bronze medallist Sitora Turdibekova used impressive style of boxing and her development delivered for her a success in the same category. The Uzbek girl was too smart for Azerbaijan’s Mahsati Hamzayeva and marched into the last eight.

India’s Youth National Champion Parveen is only 20 but she had the skills to beat Turkey’s Esra Ozyol in the last 16 of the women’s lightweight (60kg). The Indian girl proved her talent in her next international competition in Istanbul where she will be meeting with Kazakhstan’s experienced Rimma Volosenko as next who eliminated Ukraine’s Amina Abramova. Uzbekistan’s 19-year-old Dilfuza Bekova and Kazakhstan’s National Champion Vladislava Kukhta also advanced to the quarter-finals in that weight category.

India’s Shiva Thapa claimed his first gold medal at the Amman 2013 ASBC Asian Boxing Championships. The two-time Olympian boxer had a tough contest against Kazakhstan’s Bakhtiyar Smagulov but he was able to manage that success with his great stamina. In another men’s lightweight (63kg) bout, Kyrgyzstan’s 18-year-old Zhantoro Tashiyev demonstrated his power and landed the lethal shots quickly against Turkey’s Muhammet Sait Budak. Tashiyev has been preparing to the AIBA Youth World Boxing Championships and decided the bout rapidly to win it by RSC.

Kyrgyzstan’s Nuradin Rustambek Uulu won the title of the welterweight (69kg) at the Ulaanbaatar 2019 ASBC Asian Youth Boxing Championships. He will be turning to 20 this year only but he could be the Central Asian nation’s next elite star in the upcoming tournaments and championships. Rustambek Uulu continued his teammate’s Tashiyev’s winning path, he won his preliminary bout against Gambia’s Babacarr Janneh by RSC in the first round.

Denys Latypov had more than 300 contests already during his career and the ex-Russian boxer started his campaign also well in the first preliminary round of the super heavyweight (+91kg). Latypov, who is Bahrain’s best hope in the Istanbul Bosphorus International Boxing Tournament, met with an inexperienced Turkish rival, Sedat Eglence, and won the quick contest by RSC in the first round.
