Kyzaibay, Seesondee and Zulkaynarova were the heroes of the Shopokov Memorial Tournament on Day3

The quarter-finals of the 43rd edition of the Duisenkul Shopokov Memorial Tournament was held in Kyrgyzstan’s capital city in Bishkek. The winners are advanced to the semi-finals of the Duisenkul Shopokov Memorial Tournament and these boxers are now guaranteed medallists. Kazakhstan’s Nazym Kyzaibay, Thailand’s Sudaporn Seesondee and Tajikistan’s Shoira Zulkaynarova were amazed the judges at the quarter-finals.
Mr. Duisenkul Shopokov was the hero of the Soviet Union who died during the Great Patriotic War at the Battle of Moscow in December 1941. The tournament was named after him and the next competition will be the 43rd edition in Bishkek where several strong nations are taking part in Kyrgyzstan’s capital.

Kazakhstan’s two-time AIBA Women’s World Champion Nazym Kyzaibay impressed in the women’s flyweight (51kg)
Kazakhstan’s two-time AIBA Women’s World Champion Nazym Kyzaibay did not achieve any medal in the Jakarta 2018 Asian Games and their head coach Mr. Vadim Prysiazhniuk selected her main national rival Zhaina Shekerbekova to attend in the New Delhi 2018 AIBA Women’s World Boxing Championships. The 25-year-old Kazakh boxer is trying to regain her place in the top national team and impressed the crowd when she met with Thailand’s National Champion Sikadon Ratchaneekorn. Following Kyzaibay’s quick attacks the referee stopped their quarter-final in the second round in Bishkek.

Tajikistan’s Zulkaynarova and Thailand’s Seesondee advanced to the semi-finals of the women’s light welterweight (64kg)
Thailand’s best female boxer AIBA Women’s World Boxing Championships silver medallist Sudaporn Seesondee attends at the light welterweight (64kg) in Bishkek where she was too quick for Mongolia’s Shinetsetseg Uranbileg. Another favourite boxer in the same category Tajikistan’s Shoira Zulkaynarova, who was quarter-finalist in the New Delhi 2018 AIBA Women’s World Boxing Championships, followed Seesondee to the last four in Bishkek. Zulkaynarova controlled her bout against Kazakhstan’s Balnur Bolatbek and the judges picked her as the winner of their quarter-final.

Kyrgyzstan’s No.1 Azat Usenaliev and Mirlan Turkbay Uulu both joined to the last four in the men’s flyweight (52kg)
Kyrgyzstan’s Amman 2013 ASBC Asian Champion Azat Usenaliev took bronze medal at the Jakarta 2018 Asian Games but he never boxed any Olympic Games yet and he is focusing to achieve his highest goal. The 28-year-old boxer eliminated Kazakhstan’s Akniyet Baltabayev and continued his winning path against Uzbekistan’s ASBC Asian Youth Champion Samandar Kholmurodov at the flyweight (52kg). Another local boxer National Champion Mirlan Turkbay Uulu was slightly better than Kazakhstan’s Askhat Zhusupov and he is now also a guaranteed medallist.

Kazakhstan’s Ilyas Suleimenov returned with a strong victory
Kazakhstan’s Ilyas Suleimenov was Olympian boxer in London in 2012 and he claimed the gold medal at the Incheon 2014 Asian Games. The 29-year-old Kazakh boxer, who shined also in the Season VIII of the World Series Boxing, had a competitive rival Thailand’s Thailand Open International Boxing Tournament winner Anu Sriteep in the quarter-finals. In spite of the Thai talent’s longer reach Suleymenov worked better and his tactical repertoires were enough to beat his rival. Uzbekistan’s Youth Olympic Games winner Abdumalik Khalokov was too smart for Kyrgyzstan’s Munarbek Seyitbek Uulu in this category.

Kyrgyzstan’s experienced Rio 2016 Olympian Erkin Adylbek Uulu won at the light heavyweight (81kg)
Erkin Adylbek Uulu was not only qualified for the Rio 2016 Olympic Games but he was the flag bearer of Team Kyrgyzstan two and half years ago. He was also born in 1991 as their team captain Azat Usenaliev and he is still active in the international stage to win medals in the top events as well. Adylbek Uulu used up his longer reach to keep his safest distance and he followed his coaches’ instructions well enough against Kazakhstan’s Duarzhan Sarzhanov. The final verdict was unanimous decision to Adylbek Uulu which means he will be able to meet with 19-year-old Alisher Chatkalbekov in the next round.
