Kazakhstan Boxing Federation is very active in the boxing map, they sent a strong team to the European competition where 22 nations are attending this week. Among the top boxing nations, England, France, Italy, Netherlands, Spain, Turkey, Georgia, host Hungary, Finland, Wales, Croatia, Lithuania and Algeria are also there in Debrecen. All of the winners of the third competition day advanced to the semi-finals in the international event.

Kazakhstan’s Talgat Syrymbetov won the 2018 Bornemissza Youth Memorial Tournament and he claimed silver in that event. The 19-year-old talent returned to Hungary and competes at the Bocskai Memorial Tournament in Debrecen. He moved up to the featherweight (57kg) and met with Hungary’s former kick-boxer Roland Veres in the quarter-finals of the international event. The smaller Syrymbetov, who arrived from the Karagandy region, used an aggressive tactic and reduced the fighting distance successfully which delivered a clear success for him.

Shymkent’s young Arman Sailau could not represent Kazakhstan in the junior and youth international competitions but he developed step by step in the national events. The 20-year-old Kazakh talent eliminated Croatia’s Filip Kolar in the first preliminary round and he started well in the quarter-finals against Miroslav Ishchenko Kapuler who switched from Ukraine to Israel three years ago. The new welterweight (69kg) national team member, Sailau had the strong fighting spirit in the bout but the final verdict was split decision in the favour of the older Israeli boxer.

Kazakhstan’s Guwahati 2017 AIBA Women’s Youth World Boxing Championships silver medallist Zhazira Urakbayeva impressed in her debuting contest against Hungary’s teenager Zsanett Balogh. The 20-year-old boxer competed at the flyweight (51kg) in the Bocskai Memorial Tournament where her second rival was Spain’s Marta Lopez Del Arbol. Urakbayeva landed a few great jabs in the first round but her Spanish opponent also adopted the level of the contest. Lopez was patient and used her great footwork to catch Urakbayeva which delivered a success for the Spanish girl.

Nazym Ishchanova competed in the New Delhi 2018 AIBA Women’s World Boxing Championships and several other big international competitions. The 23-year-old boxer decided to change her category and moved down to the featherweight (57kg) in the recent half year. Ishchanova enjoyed her quarter-final at the Bocskai Memorial Tournament where she met with a tough French girl, Amina Zidani who also competed at the lightweight (60kg) previously. Ishchanova was slightly better in the exchanges and celebrated her outstanding success in the evening of the third competition day.
