The medallists from the Fujairah 2019 ASBC Asian Junior Boxing Championships attended in the Youth National Championships but not all of them were able to get the gold medal in their weight categories.

Eleven winners celebrated their gold medals in the Youth National Championships who all can expect international participation this year. Boxers who were born in 2003 and in 2004 are eligible to attend in the Kazakhstan Women’s Youth National Championships.

The Kazakhstan Women’s Youth National Championships was one of the preparation and selection events before the AIBA Youth World Boxing Championships which will be held in Kielce, Poland this April.

Aitkesheva and Buribayeva were the first winners in the youth finals

Following Pavlodar region’s Anel Aitkesheva’s success at the pinweight (46kg) over Nurzhugan Toreshova, an anticipated fight was expected at the light flyweight (48kg) in Almaty. Karagandy region’s Gulnaz Buribayeva eliminated Kyzyl-Orda region’s favourite Akbota Bolat in the semi-finals and met for the gold medal with Symbat Adilova. Buribayeva used her unpredictable footwork to catch her final opponent who came from a boxing family and defeated Adilova by unanimous decision.

Gulnar Turapbay and Aishagul Yeleubayeva won narrow finals at the flyweight (51kg) and at the bantamweight (54kg)

Pavlodar region’s Khava Bolkoyeva and Dzhambul region’s Symbat Aliaskar were named as the favourites of the youth flyweight (51kg) following their international experiences but both boxers lost their semi-finals in Almaty. Karagandy region’s second gold medal in the Youth National Championships was achieved by Gulnar Turapbay who defeated Azhar Tashkenbay of Turkestan region by split decision.
