Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and China shared the gold medals at the 42nd Abdaliyev Memorial Tournament

Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and China shared the gold medals in the new edition of the Karakozy Abdaliyev Memorial Tournament after the thirteen exciting finals. The Youth Olympic Games silver medallist Talgat Shayken returned to the competitions this year and he won the Abdaliyev Memorial Tournament as well.

The 42nd Karakozy Abdaliyev Memorial Tournament was held in South Kazakhstan, in Shymkent, short after the qualifying evet for the Olympics, the Asian Games. All of the 13 elite male weight categories from the minimumweight (48kg) up to the super heavyweight (+92kg) were involved to the competition schedule.

The competition was open for all of the National Federations and one of the goals is to strengthen the relationship between Kazakhstan and the foreign countries. Among the European countries, the Hungarians also sent boxers to Shymkent and earned four medals in the international competition.

Mr. Karakozy Abdaliyev was a Kazakh-Soviet soldier who was awarded to the title of the Hero of the Soviet Union in 1943 due to his brave actions in World War II. He was born in Shymkent and the city is proud of his hero therefore the Shymkent Boxing Federation was named its international competition after him.

Two local boxers earned the titles at the Abdaliyev Memorial Tournament, Shymkent’s prides, as Tleuberdi Suleimeni and Ryskhan Talip. The latter defeated Hungary’s National Champion Martin Virban in a narrow fight at the flyweight (51kg) final.

The silver medallist from the 2022 Uzbekistan National Championships, Faryozbek Dusmatov moved up to the bantamweight (54kg) but he was unstoppable against Ardak Sagymbek in the final of the event.

Another Uzbek hope, Farkhodbek Arabjonov earned his nation’s second gold medal in Shymkent where he defeated his compatriot, a more experienced boxer, Sardor Ashirov at the light welterweight (63.5kg) final.

Daulet Nyssan earned medal at the 2015 ASBC Asian Junior Boxing Championships and the 24-year-old Shymkent-based boxer had the experience to beat Uzbekistan’s Bekjan Makhmudov in the final.

The Youth Olympic Games silver medallist and ASBC Asian Youth Champion Talgat Shayken is back on track to the international events and he was too strong for all of his rivals, including Kyrgyzstan’s 19-year-old Eldar Turdubayev.

China’s Xinjiang-based duo, Halimulati Rehemandu and Ashan Rezibieke earned gold medals in the heavier weight classes, while a well-experienced boxer, Kazakhstan’s Nurlan Saparbay won the title at the super heavyweight (+92kg).
