Junior stars arise in Kyrgyzstan’s Murataliev tourney

The 10th Moldaly Murataliev Memorial Tournament introduced impressive young guns in the junior boys division following a five-day competition in the town of Talas, Kyrgyzstan.

Thirteen champions emerged out of the 93 participating 14 and 15-year-old boxers from the different regions of Kyrgyzstan as well as Uzbekistan.

Uzbekistan’s 14-year-old bet Bekhruz Kurbonov grabbed the first title of the tourney after beating hometown fighter Kayrat Kalmuratov in the 40kg weight class.

Kyrgyz standouts won the rest of the medals, including Maksud Dursunov (63kg) who has been training with his elder brother ASBC Asian medalist Mukhammed in the capital city of Bishkek.
