Jordan’s new ITO Mr. Ali Abu Dari – The Opening Ceremony was a superb show in Fujairah where I enjoy my work

Jordan’s boxing official Mr. Ali Abu Dari has been working as International Technical Official (ITO) at the very first time in a major championship during his career. Mr. Ali Abu Dari is the Referee & Judge Coordinator at the ASBC Asian Confederation Junior Boxing Championships in Fujairah, United Arab Emirates.

The management of the Asian Boxing Confederation asked him about his impressions and opinions regarding his work in Fujairah, the environment of the ASBC Asian Junior Boxing Championships, Jordan’s boxing life and his future goals in our sport.

“I have been working as Secretary General in the Jordan Boxing Association and I assisted many local national events in the recent years. Furthermore, I was the Team Manager of Jordan’s delegation at the Budapest 2018 AIBA Youth World Boxing Championships where we had three qualified boxers.

This is my very first time working as International Technical Official (ITO) in an ASBC Asian Championships but my first impressions are fantastic and I feel the positive atmosphere of the competition. The Opening Ceremony was an absolutely superb show with a lot of extraordinary ideas which amazed me and I think all of the other officials here in Fujairah.

I am enjoying this event and trying to keep my 100% focus on my duties to support the success of the championship. The experienced officials as the Technical Delegate Mr. Pat Fiacco of Canada, Mr. Andrew Caulfield, Mr. Paiboon Srichaisawat and Mr. Syed Abdul Kadir are all friendly with me in the event.

One of the most experienced R&J Evaluators, Mr. Paiboon Srichaisawat of Thailand helped me a lot before the event not to miss any important steps in the sessions. I am Referee & Judge Coordinator here in the ASBC Asian Junior Boxing Championships. I don’t want to fail in this event and I am a person who always want to work in the top level but luckily I received positive feedbacks from the Technical Delegate.

The level of the boxers is different here in this ASBC Asian Junior Boxing Championships. Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan and India are the best nations in our continent, all of them have strong boxing school and highly qualified coaches. I am expecting tough finals between these top nations on the last day of the competition.

Jordan arrived with five boxers to Fujairah who were selected after the Junior National Championships. They trained together only one month after the national event which was not enough for them to be competitive against such strong countries as Kazakhstan, India, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan and others but they fought bravely in Fujairah.

I am a university teacher in Amman and not so easy to handle all of my duties together with boxing but I am ready to develop and I have strong targets. In the future for longer term I would like to be Technical Delegate in the events but I need more experiences before the course,” said Jordan’s new official Mr. Ali Abu Dari in the venue of the competition.
