Iran’s new International Elite Men Boxing Tournament will be held in Tehran from February 27 in 2021
The Iran Boxing Federation will be organized a new international competition for the elite men boxers in their capital city in Tehran next year. The President of their National Federation Mr. Hossein Souri increased the activities of the Iranian boxers and teams to develop the country’s boxing life.
Among the Iranian boxers, teenage talent Daniyal Shakhbakhsh and ASBC Asian Boxing Championships bronze medallist Seyed Shahin Mousavi qualified for the Tokyo 2021 Olympic Games through the Asian & Oceanian Olympic Boxing Qualifying Event which was taking place in Amman, Jordan on March.
The event replaced the competition in Orumieh which was planned to be held in the end of February 2020 but due to the spread of the Covid-19 Coronavirus, the event was cancelled by the Iranian Boxing Federation.
The International Boxing Tournament will be held for the elite male boxers between February 27 and March 5in 2021. The arrival of the participants is February 27, while the competition period of the new event is between February 28 and March 4 in the city of Tehran.
The International Boxing Tournament will be held in the eight male Olympic weight classes as follows: 52kg, 57kg, 63kg, 69kg, 75kg, 81kg, 91kg and +91kg. All of the teams can attend in the International Boxing Tournament in Tehran with the maximum number of 8 boxers.
The new Iranian International Boxing Tournament is a money prize event, all of the individual medallists will be getting payments in Tehran next year. The gold medallists will be earning 600 USD each, the silver medallists 300 USD while the bronze medallist 150 USD in this planned 2021 international event.
