Interview with Mr. Serik Konakbayev

Mr. Serik Konakbayev – Asia is a great market in boxing
The President of the Asian Boxing Confederation Mr. Serik Konakbayev is also following the ASBC Asian Confederation Boxing Championships from the venue and after his negotiations with AIBA President Dr. Ching-Kuo Wu he answered our questions about the new directions of the ASBC.
“We have got great plans in the Asian Boxing Confederation and we tried to raise the level of our cooperations, communications and several other areas as well. Our main directive is to be more professional in our ASBC work in comparison to the previous years and lead the continent’s boxing life into a new direction. More than 60% of the world’s population lives in Asia and we have to use better and show our potential in this strong boxing market.
We are planning to launch new projects in the upcoming year but first of all we are focusing to the Rio 2016 Olympic Games which is the most important in our short term plans. Asia had 62 qualified athletes in London and we are hoping to improve this number in the Rio 2016 Olympic Games. Seven of our athletes have already qualified to Rio from the AIBA Pro Boxing and World Series of Boxing,” said Mr. Serik Konakbayev who leads the Asian Boxing Confederation as former boxer and had got huge experiences in the business and political areas.
