Indonesia’s bests as Beatrichx Suguro, Gresty Alfons and Mario Kali won the Kapolri Cup in Jambi

The Kapolri Cup was held in Jambi which competition was one of the national selection event for the elite women and men boxers in Indonesia. Beatrichx Suguro, Ainun Azizah, Mario Kali, Lucky Hari and Gresty Alfons are all well known boxers in the Southeast Asian region who all won their challenges in Jambi.
Indonesia will be hosting the next edition of the Asian Games in August 2018 and the country has been preparing with full speed to get top results in that important multisport event. Firstly Indonesia is focusing to the upcoming Southeast Asian Games which will be held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia from August 19.
Their best women boxers achieved good results in the international level in the recent years and they have got potentials for the future. Beatrichx Suguro is member of the Indonesian women’s national team since 2013 and had enough experiences to beat all of her rivals in the Kapolri Cup. The 23-year-old boxer moved back to the light flyweight (48kg) and defeated Apriliani Tombeg and Rani Ballu in the final phase of the competition.
ASEAN Youth Boxing Championships silver medallist Ainun Azizah eliminated Amelia Lontoh in the semi-final and the teenage talent continued her winning path against Novita Sinadia in the gold medal bout of the flyweight (51kg). Maluku Governor’s Cup silver medallist Ratina Sari Dewi achieved the title of the featherweight (57kg) after beating Vika Lido Yovita by unanimous decision.
Indonesian National Games silver medallist Huswatun Hasanah proved strong development in the recent one year and dominated her final at the lightweight (60kg) against Vinka Defri Bambuta. Indonesia did not have female welterweight (69kg) boxers in the international level in the recent years yet but their Retno April proved she could be enough strong also for the continental events.
Indonesia’s 2015 President’s Cup winner and national team member Mario Kali decided to move back to his original light flyweight (49kg) in the recent months and the 23-year-old boxer was able to win the Kapolri Cup where he was too strong for Alvian Teleng in the final. The final verdict was split decision to Kali who is aiming for the place in the Indonesian top team for the Asian Games.
Ilham Tapajati competed in the 2014 edition of the ASBC Asian Confederation Youth Boxing Championships in Bangkok and the 20-year-old flyweight (52kg) talent won the title in Jambi following his triumph over Supriadi in the final while young talent Petrus Luturmas claimed only bronze medal in the Kapolri Cup.
ASBC Asian Confederation Youth Boxing Championships competitor Lucky Hari is a talented boxer at the bantamweight (56kg) who defeated four tough rivals in the Kapolri Cup in Jambi. Slamet Rianto, Rahmat Tobat, Evaristus Leki and Adrianus Salamisi were not enough strong in Jambi to stop Lucky Hari.
Gresty Alfons won the gold medal in the 2016 Indonesian National Games at the lightweight (60kg) but this time he had to beat Southeast Asian Games silver medallist Matius Mandiangan in the final therefore his success in the Kapolri Cup was a great achievement from the experienced boxer.
Indonesian National Games silver medallist Saputra Samada also delivered top performance in the Kapolri Cup where he defeated Topaz Siregar in the final of the welterweight (69kg). Experienced Taufan Paransa won the title at the light heavyweight (81kg) while Asmar Lubis, who achieved bronze medal in the 2016 Indonesian National Games, secured the gold medal of the heavyweight (91kg) in Jambi.
