India’s Parveen and Kazakhstan’s Rustamov were the main surprised in the semi-finals of the Republic of Kazakhstan President’s Cup

The fourth competition day of the 7th edition of the Republic of Kazakhstan President’s Cup saw the amazing semi-finals in the capital city of the Central Asian boxing power in Nur-Sultan. The main surprise of the women’s competition was delivered by India’s 19-year-old Parveen while among the men’s semi-finals Kazakhstan’s Rustam Rustamov has done a major upset.
The gold, silver and bronze medalists will be received money prizes at the Republic of Kazakhstan President’s Cup. The following nations are attending in the Republic of Kazakhstan President’s Cup in Nur-Sultan: Algeria, Bulgaria, China, Georgia, India, host Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Mongolia, Philippines, Russia, Syria, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan. Three Confederations the Asian, the European and the African will be represented their bests in the upcoming international event in Nur-Sultan.

Dream final will be held at the women’s flyweight (51kg) between Shekerbekova and Kyzaibay

AIBA Women’s World Boxing Championships silver medallist Zhaina Shekerbekova eliminated Angelina Lukas who has done several surprises in 2019 but the Rio 2016 Olympian boxer was too strong for her on Day4. Double AIBA Women’s World Champion at the light flyweight (48kg) Nazym Kyzaibay controlled all of the rounds against two-time AIBA Women’s Youth World Boxing Championships bronze medallist Zhansaya Abdraimova. These results meant the top final are realized between Shekerbekova and Kyzaibay.

Aizhan Khodzhabekova returned to the featherweight (57kg) and remained her chance alive to win the President’s Cup
Kazakhstan’s Aizhan Khodzhabekova was bronze medallist at the featherweight (57kg) in the Astana 2016 AIBA Women’s World Boxing Championships. She returned to this category and eliminated China’s Gan Yuanmei in a tight semi-final contest in Nur-Sultan. The 23-year-old Khodzhabekova will be boxing for the gold medal with Russia’s EUBC European Confederation Women’s Boxing Championships silver medallist Daria Abramova who controlled her fight against Kazakhstan’s Aida Abikeyeva.

India’s 19-year-old Parveen delivered the main surprise of Day4
India’s Parveen was not able to fight out her place in their female youth team in 2018 but she was quickly involved to the elite events in the recent months. The 19-year-old Indian lightweight (60kg) boxer increased her experiences in the Cologne Boxing World Cup three months ago and delivered one of the biggest sensations of the President’s Cup in Nur-Sultan. The Indian teenager bowed out Kazakhstan’s AIBA Women’s World Boxing Championships bronze medallist Karina Ibragimova which was a major upset in the fourth day of boxing. Parveen will be boxing for the gold medal with Kazakhstan’s experienced Rimma Volosenko in the last day of the event.

Kazakhstan’s Dariga Shakimova eliminated a top Russian at the women’s welterweight (69kg)
Kazakhstan’s Rio 2016 Olympic Games bronze medallist Dariga Shakimova moved down to the welterweight (69kg) which is perfectly fit for her height. Following it was approved as Olympic category for Tokyo, Shakimova’s motivation are increased and she proved her excellent skills in the semi-final against Russia’s Strandja Memorial Tournament winner Elmira Azizova. Kazakhstan’s returning boxer London 2012 Olympic Games bronze medallist Marina Volnova was defeated by China’s Cologne Boxing World Cup winner Yang Liu in Nur-Sultan.

Kazakhstan’s new flyweight (52kg) hopes shined in the semi-finals
Kazakhstan’s 2019 Bocskai Memorial Tournament winner and WSB Team Champion Saken Bibossynov arrived to Nur-Sultan as the main favourite for the men’s flyweight (52kg). The 22-year-old boxer is one of the members of the new wave in Kazakhstan’s boxing life who demonstrated his excellent technical skills against Uzbekistan’s Foziljon Abdumorodov. Bibossynov will be boxing for the gold medal with his teammate ASBC Asian Junior Champion and AIBA Youth World Boxing Championships bronze medallist Makhmud Sabyrkhan who defeated his next opponent also in Nur-Sultan.

Kazakhstan’s Rustam Rustamov caused the biggest sensation of the men’s part of the semi-finals
Kazakhstan’s Rustam Rustamov has been attending in the international events since 2010 but after a few poor years in the sport he returned with top skills this year. Rustamov, who trains in the Almaty region, caused the biggest surprise of the men’s part of the semi-finals with his success over Kazakhstan’s AIBA World Champion Kairat Yeraliyev and advanced to the finals. His last opponent will be Kazakhstan’s Incheon 2014 Asian Games winner well-experienced Ilyas Suleimenov who walked over to the final.

India’s Shiva Thapa found back to his winning path in 2019
India’s Shiva Thapa claimed gold medal already in the Amman 2013 ASBC Asian Confederation Boxing Championships but the two-time Olympian had a few difficulties after Rio de Janeiro. The Indian hope moved up to the light welterweight (63kg) in the recent months and proved his strength once again in the semi-finals eliminating Kyrgyzstan’s Argen Kadyrbek Uulu. Thapa’s final opponent will be Kazakhstan’s two-time ASBC Asian Confederation Boxing Championships silver medallist Zakir Safiullin who thrashed Tajikistan’s defending ASBC Asian Champion Bakhodur Usmonov.

Kazakhstan’s Ablaikhan Zhussupov dominated his second fight in Nur-Sultan
Kazakhstan’s Youth Olympic Games winner Ablaikhan Zhussupov achieved bronze at the Hamburg 2017 AIBA World Boxing Championships and he proved excellent performance this year. The 22-year-old Rio Olympian dominated his opening fights against a tough Algerian boxer and Kyrgyzstan’s Daniyar Damirdin Uulu during his road to the semi-finals of the welterweight (69kg). Zhussupov was too smart for Uzbekistan’s Fazliddin Meliboev and will be facing for the gold medal Kazakhstan’s 19-year-old Talgat Shayken who eliminated India’s Duryodhan Singh Negi.
