Experienced Mr. Kevin Smith is the new Technical Director in the Saudi Arabian Boxing Federation

Mr. Kevin Smith is a well-known coach in the world who worked in Boxing Australia in the recent years and their boxers earned medals in the Olympic Games, titles in the Commonwealth Games and top results in the AIBA Women’s World Boxing Championships. Following the Australians were not active in the international stage in the previous two years, Mr. Kevin Smith signed a new contract with the Saudi Arabian Boxing Federation and will work there as Technical Director.

Mr. Abdullah Ahmed Al-Harbi is the new President in the Saudi Arabian Boxing Federation who arranged a professional team around him to develop all aspects of boxing in the country. The education is the key in their development programs to support to improve the coaches, referees and judges, officials and boxers.

The Saudi Arabian Boxing Federation renewed and launched a long-term strategic program to achieve their goals in the future. Mrs. Rasha Mohamed Al-Khamis is the energetic Vice-President of the Saudi Arabian Boxing Federation who developed most of the programs to grow not only in men’s boxing but in the women’s part of the sport too.

Saudi Arabia hosted its Women’s National Boxing Championships a few months ago as a strong historical step in the country. The Saudi Arabian Boxing Federation prepares to the international events and also to their Saudi National Games to select the best athletes. Mr. Kevin Smith will support their activities and plan their projects in the technical side. Saudi Arabia sent six boxers to the ASBC Asian U22 Boxing Championships to Tashkent, Uzbekistan which was the first big event of the country. The Saudi Arabians are planning to attend in the upcoming ASBC Asian Youth & Junior Boxing Championships in Amman and they have the strong goal to host the ASBC Asian Elite Boxing Championships this summer.
