Experienced ASBC participants and medallists earned titles in the Tajikistan Youth National Championships

The eighteen exciting finals were held in the Tajikistan Youth National Championships in their capital city in Dushanbe. Tajikistan’s most experienced youth boxers, ASBC competitors and medallists such as Bibinashastamo Kholova, Mekhrodj Zoidov, Iskandarbek Rustamov, Abubakr Murodov and Dovud Makhkamov all won gold medals.

Tajikistan Boxing Federation sent boxers to all of the important international competitions in 2021. Their boxers claimed four bronze medals including two among the women boxers in the Dubai 2021 ASBC Asian Elite Boxing Championships this May. Tajikistan also impressed at the 2021 ASBC Asian Youth & Junior Boxing Championships where their youth talents earned six bronze medals.

The Tajikistan Youth National Championships took place for their boxers who were born in 2003 and in 2004. The best boxers from this age group competed at the Fujairah 2019 ASBC Asian Junior Boxing Championships and at the Dubai 2021 ASBC Asian Youth Boxing Championships. All of the regions and cities sent their best youth boxers to the Tajikistan Youth National Championships.

The women’s boxers could attend in five different weight categories from the bantamweight (54kg) up to the welterweight (66kg). Khatlon region’s Muborak Yodgorova won the first gold medal among the girls following she was too strong for Oyshamo Khamidova who trains and lives in the same region. The second gold medal among the girls earned by Fayzullo Shafoati who defeated Tojiddin Makhbubai in the final of the featherweight (57kg). 

The most experienced boxer in their women’s youth national team is Khatlon region’s Bibinashastamo Kholova who competed at the Fujairah 2019 ASBC Asian Junior Boxing Championships. The 17-year-old talent can still box in the youth age group next year and dominated her final over Yelena Varakyan of Dushanbe. The remaining women titles were earned by Sumaiya Rakhmatova Farzona Nurimova.

The pinweight (46kg) is an addition to the official program of the Tajikistan Youth National Championships which was won by Isroil Saydaliyev of Dushanbe following his success over Mekhrodjiddin Barotov in the final. Mekhrodj Zoidov is also only 17 but he was quarter-finalist in the ASBC Asian Youth Boxing Championships this August therefore his experiences paid off in the final against Alijon Alidodov.

Khatlon region’s Aslam Islomov claimed the third male gold medal in the Tajikistan Youth National Championships following his success over Parviz Yusupov. Sughd region’s Rukhovar Maynusov claimed mostly silver and bronze medals in the previous editions of the national events but he changed into gold after beating Khasan Sharipov. Iskandarbek Rustamov was the most experienced boxer at the bantamweight (54kg) and he accomplished his target, defeated Abbos Akhmedov in the final.

Abubakr Murodov was silver medallist at the Fujairah 2019 ASBC Asian Junior Boxing Championships therefore he did not give any chance to his opponents at the featherweight (57kg) including in the final against Mukhammad Malakhbekov. Abdugafor Vakhobov earned the title at the lightweight (60kg) following his triumph over Najmiddin Ismoili. Dushanbe’s Sadam Davlatov had three successes in the national event and defeated also Bobojon Khamidov in the final.

Sughd region’s Dovud Makhkamov competed in several international events including at the Fujairah 2019 ASBC Asian Junior Boxing Championships therefore his success at the welterweight was not a surprise. Shakhrom Samaridinov caused one of the main sensations in the Tajikistan Youth National Championships when he defeated a top boxer at the middleweight (75kg). He was not the favourite against Durandesh Zubaidov but he managed the success against the local No.1. The last title of the Tajikistan Youth National Championships was earned by Umed Nosirov in the heaviest weight class.
