Eshkuvatov, Redjepov, Shalanov and Zhaparov were the bests in the Tashkent Regional Youth Championships in Angren

The Tashkent Regional Youth Championships was held in the city of Angren which was another important event in Uzbekistan. Among the gold medalists Youth National Champion Mamurjon Eshkuvatov, Madiyar Redjepov, Amantay Shalanov and experienced Samandar Zhaparov proved the best performances in Angren.
Boxers who were born in 2001 and in 2002 were eligible to take part in the Tashkent Regional Youth Championships. Altogether 96 male boxers attended in 10 weight classes from pinweight (46kg) up to the super heavyweight (+91kg) in Angren. The competition was one of the first preparation events for the 2019 youth tournaments.
Angren’s first gold medal was achieved by Sukhrob Erkayev at the pinweight (46kg) in the competition which was his first tournament title. The 16-year-old talent eliminated Yangiol’s more experienced Bekzhan Serimbetov in the semi-final and he was slightly better than Kirbay’s Narmurad Uskenbayev in the final.
Angren’s Mamurjon Eshkuvatov was one of the biggest names in the event who claimed gold medal at the pinweight (46kg) in the last edition of the Uzbekistan Youth National Championships a few weeks ago. The local favourite moved up to the light flyweight (49kg) and defeated his top rival Dilshod Abduvaliyev in a superb bout.
Yangiol’s Temur Rustamov won two out of his contests before the last gong including his final against Zangiata’s Oybek Toshtemirov at the flyweight (52kg). Angren’s Ulugbek Aktamov won the gold medal in the Tashkent Region International Youth Tournament at the flyweight (52kg) two months ago. Aktamov, who moved up one category, had a close semi-final against Bekabad’s Asylbek Zharkynbayev but after that success he was able to beat Asadbek Toshmatov for the gold medal.
Chinaz’s Junior National Championships silver medallist Davron Ikromiddinov has been attending in the national events since 2015 therefore he had enough experiences to beat Zangiata’s Azizkhon Abdullayev. Almalyk’s Abdulkhak Urazaliyev had narrow fights during his road to the title of the welterweight (69kg) against Angren’s Samandar Abdumutalov and another local talent Sirozhatdin Khozhakhmetov.
Nurafshan’s lone gold medal in the competition was achieved by Bakhtiyor Gulomov who won the middleweight (75kg) following his success over Piskent’s Asilbek Akhrolov. Madiyar Redjepov has got strong international experiences, he won the Heydar Aliyev Junior Cup in Azerbaijan one and half year ago and he proved strong developments in Angren. The 17-year-old light heavyweight (81kg) boxer was too strong for Abdulla Rajapov in the final.
Bostanlyk’s Margilan International Junior Tournament silver medallist Amantay Shalanov was too strong for all of his rivals therefore his final opponent Almalyk’s Sherali Kushbayev abandoned their fight in the second round. Yangiol’s 17-year-old Samandar Zhaparov claimed bronze medal in the Uzbekistan Youth National Championships last month and dominated all of his fights at the super heavyweight (+91kg) and quickly subdued Piskent’s Kozimjon Mukhiddinov in the 10th final of the event.
