Daulet Tulemissov stopped his final opponent at the 23rd Aitenov Brothers Youth Tournament

The thirteen finals took place in the fifth competition day at the 23^rd edition of the Aitenov Brothers Youth Tournament in Kostanay, North Kazakhstan. The top stars of the competition such as Bek Zholdasbek, Adaybek Niyazbay, Nurbek Mursal, Islam Sovetov, Daulet Tulemissov and Nurzhan Duman all won their weight categories in Kostanay.

Altogether 108 boxers competed for the 13 titles in the new edition of the Aitenov Brothers Youth Tournament in Kostanay. The Aitenov Brothers Youth Tournament is a strong men’s youth international competition, which was named by Ural and Korgan Aitenov.

The head of the local organizers, Mrs. Svetlana Mahleyt arranged all of the tournament programs and details and she is the engine of Kostanay’s boxing. Boxers who were born in 2005 and in 2006, were eligible to participate in the Aitenov Brothers Youth Tournament. Young talents arrived not only from the Central Asian region, but Yemen, Iraq and South Africa also sent boxers to Kostanay.

Abay Toleubekov lives and trains in the city of Abay and became the first winner of the 23^rd Aitenov Brothers Youth Tournament following his success over Ulan Kuanyshbay at the minimumweight (48kg). Iraq’s Abbas Qasim Hamdan Al-Sarray advanced to the finals of the flyweight (51kg) but he lost to Kazakhstan’s Uslam Seksenbayev in a tight final bout.

Aktobe region’s Zhanseri Kosherbayev and Pavlodar region’s Islam Mashkentayev, who represented Kazakhstan in the 2022 Youth World Boxing Championships, joined the finals of the bantamweight (54kg) and the first celebrated his title after their exciting bout. Shymkent’s Bek Zholdasbek claimed a bronze medal at the 2022 ASBC Asian Junior Boxing Championships in Amman and defeated all of his rivals at the featherweight (57kg).

Adaybek Niyazbay had excellent international results as a junior boxer and the 18-year-old talent worked hard in the lightweight (60kg) final to beat South Africa’s Mandla Nikuna. Mangystau region’s Altynbek Alzhan had a tough semi-final but following that bout, he dominated the final against Raiymbek Amantayev.

Almaty’s Youth World Boxing Championships silver medallist Nurbek Mursal was one of the stars of the Aitenov Brothers Youth Tournament and he had the dominance over Yersultan Serikhan at the welterweight (67kg) final. Islam Sovetov, another high-ranked Kazakh youth talent, defeated his main local rivals such as Kostanay region’s Denis Kucher and Oner Seilkhan to take the title of the light middleweight (71kg).

Shymkent’s Aldiyar Abdilayev managed to win the middleweight (75kg) against Shamil Sagidollayev of Astana. The Youth World Boxing Championships silver medallist Daulet Tulemissov was the ruler of the light heavyweight (80kg) in Kostanay where he stopped a local boy, Temirlan Akhmetbekov in the final.

Following Astana’s Ibragim Betayev’s success at the cruiserweight (86kg), Nurzhan Duman, the competitor from the last Youth World Boxing Championships, defeated Nurasyl Yerniyaz in the final of the heavyweight (92kg). Almaty’s Ivan Yermolenko knocked out his semi-final opponent on Day4 but Yersultan Sapar was too quick for him in the final.
