Daniyar Shabanbayev eliminated the gold medal contender of the flyweight at the Kazakhstan Youth National Championships

Another thirty-two contests have been held in the third session of the Kazakhstan Youth National Championships which continued in the city of Almaty. Daniyar Shabanbayev eliminated the top favourite of the flyweight (52kg), Abdulla Patiyev on Day3 while the stars of the heavier weight categories all controlled their contests.

The boxers at the light flyweight (49kg), flyweight (52kg), middleweight (75kg), light heavyweight (81kg), heavyweight (91kg) and at the super heavyweight (+91kg) were in action in the third competition day at the Kazakhstan Youth National Championships. Boxers who were born in 2003 and in 2004 are eligible to attend in the first national event of the year.

The event is preparation and selection before the main international goals of the year including the upcoming AIBA Youth World Boxing Championships which is scheduled to be held in Kielce, Poland on April 10-24.

Muratuly and Tashkenbay advanced to the last eight at the light flyweight (49kg)

Kenzhe Muratuly had a great success in the opening day of the Kazakhstan Youth National Championships and the Almaty region’s boxer continued his winning path in the third day of boxing. The 17-year-old boxer was better in all aspects of boxing against Meirzhan Karboz and stopped his opponent in the third round. His main national rival, Sanzhar Tashkenbay of Nur-Sultan controlled his second contest against Zhalgas Bolatuly of Dzhambul region winning the bout by unanimous decision.

Abdulla Patiyev of Turkestan region was the Seed No.1 at the flyweight (52kg) who has got strong international experiences with tournament titles and silver from the Fujairah 2019 ASBC Asian Junior Boxing Championships. The 17-year-old talent was shocked by Daniyar Shabanbayev of Akmola region in the last 16 and suffered an unexpected split decision loss to his opponent. Pavlodar region’s Berik Temirzhanov continued his winning path and eliminated Ernur Kapsamat of Kostanay region and could be a favourite following Patiyev’s loss at the flyweight (52kg).

Shamsha, Mamyr and Sovetov dominated their light heavyweight (81kg) bouts

Almaty region’s Sultan Shamsha had difficulties in the first round against Mangystau region’s Musa Otargulov but in the second he turned up the heat and stopped his opponent at the light heavyweight (81kg). Shymkent’s Dauren Mamyr also won his contest by RSC, he was too strong for Kostanay region’s Dostiyar Rakhmanov. Karagandy region’s Yerkebulan Sovetov impressed in the same weight category, he won all of the rounds against Zhanarys Kelis and advanced to the last eight in Almaty.

Madi Amirov proved his developments at the heavyweight (91kg)

Almaty’s Madi Amirov claimed bronze medal at the Fujairah 2019 ASBC Asian Junior Boxing Championships and moved up to the heavyweight (91kg). The 17-year-old talent was too strong for Beibarys Sydyn and advanced to the next stage of the championships. The favourites of the super heavyweight (+91kg) as Diar Roman of Turkestan region and his teammate Daniyal Saparbay both dominated their contests.
