Chinese Taipei selected record number of boxers to the ASBC Asian Youth & Junior Boxing Championships

Chinese Taipei is planning to send record number of 36 boxers to the upcoming ASBC Asian Youth & Junior Boxing Championships to Astana, Kazakhstan. Chinese Taipei will have boxers in both genders and age groups at the ASBC Asian Youth & Junior Boxing Championships which will be starting with its first competition day on October 23.

Chinese Taipei competed in the 2019 ASBC Asian Junior Boxing Championships successfully and one of their girls made a history with a gold medal in Fujairah. Chinese Taipei was not able to send teams to the 2021 and 2022 editions of the ASBC Asian Youth & Junior Boxing Championships and their young talents return to this level in Astana.

The Chinese Taipei National Middle School Athletic Games was their main selection and preparation event for the ASBC Asian Youth & Junior Boxing Championships. Both of the age groups and genders were competed in that national event and following the success of their elite boxers in the Asian Games, their younger generations are ready to make an impact in Kazakhstan’s capital city.

Peng Chun Ming is the team manager of their team and nine coaches will support the boxers’ work in the ASBC Asian Youth & Junior Boxing Championships. Hsiao Ming Chih, Wei Chia Wei, Kuo Kun Wei and Liu Tai Chin were all involved to their coaching staff and additionally a doctor and a physiotherapist will also there with the team in Astana for background support.

Nine junior female boxers were selected to participate in the competition including Kao Chun Ai, Yang Ya Wen, Tsai Pei Chun, Li Yu En and Cheng Meng Sin who all competed successfully in the recent national events.

Ten junior male boxers have been registered to the championships based on their performances in the National President’s Cup and the National Middle School Athletic Games but all of them are newcomers in the international stage.

Eight female youth boxers are planning to get medals in the competition and all of these talents have already 4-5 years experiences in our sport. Nine youth male boxers are also involved to the squad including their top talents as Wang Kai Hsuan, Yu Yi Sheng, Tsai Chen Yu, Sun Chia Ho and Chuang Chuan Hung.
