China’s two-time Olympian Maimaiti Tuersunqiong continued his winning path in the Boxam Tournament

The Boxam Tournament is a traditional European boxing event in Spain which is holding in Murcia this week. China’s two-time Olympian welterweight (69kg) top boxer Maimaiti Tuersunqiong continued his winning path in the event and defeated his Belgian rival by large margin of differences on Day 2.
Thailand competed in the youth age group of the 2017 Boxam Tournament in Spain where their Atichai Phoemsap claimed the gold medal. Among the Asian National Federations China decided to send a team to the Boxam Tournament this time and their elite squad, which has been preparing to the Asian Games, performed well on Day 2.
China’s two-time Olympian Maimaiti Tuersunqiong returned to the national team after four years of break. The Chinese welterweight (69kg) boxer eliminated Denmark’s Islam Zaypulayev in the preliminary round and used his excellent technique to keep his control against Belgium’s Albert Pegba Bikoko. The Xinjiang-based Chinese boxer landed a tough punch in the second round and the referee counted the younger Belgian. The Chinese boxer dominated his fight and advanced to the semi-final of the competition.
