Boxing Federation of India recognized by the Indian Olympic Association

The Boxing Federation of India is an active affiliated National Federation in the Asian Boxing Confederation which was finally recognized officially by the Indian Olympic Association. India’s best boxers, their coaches and officials can prepare to the upcoming 2018 events in better background following this approval.
India achieved its first Olympic medal by Vijender Singh in boxing at the Beijing 2008 Games which was the top result of their developments which began in 2001. India achieved several top results in the AIBA and ASBC competitions and their future and potential are bright in the Tokyo 2020 Olympic era.
The official approval means India’s strong boxing life can grow up after their deep crisis and boxing could be one of the best sport in the country. India has got all of the potential and background to be a top country in the boxing world and their European coaches led their athletes into a new way and style.
Boxing Federation of India’s full membership within the International Boxing Association (AIBA) was unanimously reinstated at the Extraordinary Congress in Switzerland one year ago. Since then the Indian boxers claimed one bronze medal in the Hamburg 2017 AIBA World Boxing Championships and topped the team rankings at the Guwahati 2017 AIBA Women’s Youth World Boxing Championships.
Mr. Ajay Singh is the President of the Indian Boxing Federation who is active in the international boxing stages. His country hosted the AIBA Women’s Youth World Boxing Championships in Guwahati a few weeks ago while New Delhi will be the organizer of the 2018 AIBA Women’s World Boxing Championships.
