Uzbekistan’s Ikboljon Murodov continued his unbeaten campaign in the Bekabad Junior Tournament

Uzbekistan hosted the Schoolboys National Cup last month and following that a junior international competition was held in the Tashkent region in the city of Bekabad. The Bekabad Junior Tournament has got history for many years back therefore to win this prestigious event is a top result for a young boxer.
Fifteen weight classes have been held in Bekabad Junior Tournament: 42 kg, 44 kg, 46 kg, 48 kg, 50 kg, 52 kg, 54 kg, 57 kg, 60 kg, 63 kg, 66 kg, 70 kg, 75 kg, 80 kg and +80 kg. Boxers who were born in 2000 and in 2001 were eligible to box in the Bekabad Junior Tournament in Uzbekistan where the host nation dominated the event.
Children of Asia Games is the main event for this age group in 2016 where the Uzbek boxers have got gold medal chances therefore the Bekabad Tournament was an important step for them during this road. The first gold medal of the competition was achieved by 15-year-old Sardor Ashirov of Dzhizak at the 42 kg weight class where he was able to beat Umid Jurayev who trains in the city of Bukhara.
Asadkhudja Muydinkhodjayev was silver medallist in the last edition of the Uzbekistan Junior National Cup but this time he was able to beat Sadirbek Kamolmirzayev who was gold medallist in a big event a few months ago. Uzbekistan’s Asadbek Tashpulatov had great results last year and he could continue the winning path in the Bekabad Junior Tournament at the Pinweight class (46 kg).
Uzbekistan Junior National Cup silver medallist 15-year-old Doniyar Holmatov claimed his first big title in Bekabad after beating Abdullo Kamolov. Uzbek Junior National Championships silver medallist Temurmalik Adkhamov trains in Andizhan which is famous of its boxing schools and their new talent proved his skills in Bekabad where he was too strong for Uzbek Junior National Cup bronze medallist Bunyodjon Akhmedov of Ferghana.
Kazakhstan’s lone gold medal was achieved by Aydos Yerzhanuly who was able to win the Light Bantamweight class (52 kg) following his great success over Bakhtiyor Khudoykulov. Nodir Dzhanaydarov and Uzbek Junior National Championships bronze medallist Sayfullo Erkinboyev did not get such a big results previously like they get in the Bekabad Junior Tournament winning the gold in their weight classes.
Ilkham Genzhibayev had a big local rival in Uzbekistan, Timur Merzhanov who is one of the best junior boxer in the whole globe, but in the absence of their star Karakol’s pride could win the gold medal at the Light Middleweight class (70 kg). Alimardon Abduzhabbarov could not win medals in the last year’s events but in Bekabad he could beat all of his rivals which show his big progress in our sport.
Asadbek Normatov was silver medallist in the Uzbek Junior National Cup following his title in their Junior National Championships. The Bukhara-based boxer defeated Kazakhstan’s Bokiykhan Ualikhan in the final of the Light Heavyweight class (80 kg) which delivered for him another title. Uzbekistan’s Ikboljon Murodov claimed the gold medal at the Uzbek Junior National Championships and also at the Uzbek Junior National Cup in 2015 therefore his final success in Bekabad was not a surprise.
