ASBC President Mr. Anas Alotaiba and the ASBC management are sending their sincere condolences to Lebanon’s hero Ralph Mellehe’s family

The President of the Asian Boxing Confederation and Vice-President of the International Boxing Association (AIBA) Mr. Anas Alotaiba, furthermore and the whole ASBC management are sending their sincere condolences to Lebanon’s hero Mr. Ralph Mellehe’s family who worked as firefighter during the Beirut explosions.

Following the fire of Hangar 12, two huge explosions killed many people and also firefighters in the port of Beirut more than one week ago. Lebanon boxing family’s and national team member Mr. Ralph Mellehe was one of the first firefighters in the venue of the fire in the port but the explosions killed him a few minutes later. He was among the missing people in the recent days but he has been found at the site of the blast yet no alive.

The cause of the explosion was 2,700 tonnes of ammonium nitrate, a common industrial chemical which used for fertilisers and it is an important ingredient for the mining industry. The city of Beirut seriously destroyed during the explosions which affected also our boxing family in Lebanon.

We all pray for the Lebanese Boxing Family in this hard situation and the Asian Boxing Confederation send its sympathy to the whole country.

May his brave soul will rest in peace in Lebanon.
