ASBC President Mr. Anas Alotaiba and a young female talent Rahman Khalfan Al-Murshidi received the prestigious MBR Awards in Dubai

The Asian Boxing Confederation has got busy start in the year of 2022, firstly the historical ASBC Asian U22 Boxing Championships will be held in Tashkent still this month, then Amman will be the host of the ASBC Asian Youth & Junior Boxing Championships. Before these important competitions ASBC President Mr. Anas Alotaiba won the prestigious Mohammed Bin Rashid Al-Maktoum Creative Sports Award following the voting process finished and the official ceremony has also arranged.  

The awarding ceremony was held in the Dubai Expo in the United Arab Emirates where ASBC Executive Director Mr. Ali Salameh and ASBC Administrative Director Mr. Bassam Ghanem were also attended besides to the ASBC President.

To get the Mohammed Bin Rashid Al-Maktoum Creative Sports Award or shortly known as MBR is a fantastic honour in the United Arab Emirates. The MBR Sports Award is the recognized as the most important sports award not only in the United Arab Emirates but in the whole Middle East which received by the ASBC President at the first time.

The Asian Boxing Confederation could host its elite, youth and junior championships in 2021 despite of the hard situation which affected the ASBC National Federations during the Covid-19 pandemic. Mr. Anas Alotaiba and the management of the Asian Boxing Confederation is planning to arrange record number of five ASBC championships in the continent during the year of 2022.

Next to the ASBC President, United Arab Emirates’ Rahmah Khalfan Al-Murshidi has been nominated to the Mohammed Bin Rashid Al-Maktoum Creative Sports Award. She claimed silver medal at the welterweight (66kg) in the Dubai 2021 ASBC Asian Youth Boxing Championships which was her best ever women’s boxing result. Following the nominations, the young 16-year-old boxer also received her MBR Award during the ceremony in Dubai.
