ASBC management, the Thai LOC and official supplier Wesing donated the Sri Lankan team with new equipments in Bangkok

President of the Asian Boxing Confederation and AIBA Vice-President Mr. Serik Konakbayev, furthermore the ASBC management together with ASBC Vice-President Mr. Pichai Chunhavajira of Thailand and Wesing, the official supplier of the ASBC Asian Confederation Youth Boxing Championships, supported the Sri Lankan national boxing team with new equipments.
Sri Lanka sent three talented boxers to the ASBC Asian Confederation Youth Boxing Championships to Bangkok and their light flyweight (49kg) and flyweight (52kg) athletes showed future potential in our beloved combat sport. Sri Lanka is always sending teams to the ASBC and AIBA events and before the Bangkok competition the South Asian country took part with maximum number of 10 elite male boxers in the ASBC Asian Confederation Boxing Championships in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.
President of the Boxing Association of Sri Lanka Mr. Dian Gomes is member of the ASBC Women’s Commission and makes his country active in the international level. Another engine in their association is his main advisor Mr. Hemantha Weerasinghe who has been working as ITO in the international events. Sri Lanka has got more than 2,000 registered boxers in the developing country and their management is working in their long term strategic plans to get Olympic medal in boxing in 2024.
