ASBC Heroes – Kazakhstan’s unbeaten female talent Dana Diday

Following Valeriya Semyonova’s success at the light middleweight (70kg), Kazakhstan claimed its next title at the middleweight (75kg) in the Fujairah 2019 ASBC Asian Women’s Junior Boxing Championships which was done by Dana Diday. The currently 17-year-old Kazakh female boxer delivered that success in Fujairah, UAE and she is our next ASBC Hero from 2019.

Dana Diday was born in the former capital city of Kazakhstan in Almaty on February 13 in 2003. She began her boxing career at the age of 12 and she trains mostly with Mr. Zhanibek Kulniyazov who is a well-experienced national coach in Kazakhstan.

She won her first title at the 2018 Kazakhstan Women’s Junior National Championships where she defeated Nigina Babakulova in the final of the light middleweight (70kg). She closed the year of 2018 with another gold medal at the Khayrutdinov Women’s Memorial Tournament in Almaty where she was slightly better in the final of the middleweight (75kg) than Yana Baranenko.

Dana Diday was already an experienced boxer at the 2019 Kazakhstan Women’s Junior National Championships which was the main selection event for the Fujairah 2019 ASBC Asian Women’s Junior Boxing Championships. She spent one or less than two rounds in the ring during her three contests in the event and stopped also Anastasiya Bayazitova in the final of the middleweight (75kg).

The two-time Junior National Champion was the main favourite for the gold also at the Fujairah 2019 ASBC Asian Women’s Junior Boxing Championships. Diday arrived as an unbeaten boxer to the United Arab Emirates and she was able to beat Chinese Taipei’s Hsieh Shi Yu beating her opponent by RSC after one minute of fight.

Her final opponent in Fujairah was India’s Khushi who eliminated China’s Yuan Linghui in the semi-final and won the Junior Nations Cup in Serbia. Khushi and Diday both had strong experiences in spite of their age and their final delivered a hard battle between the two promising boxers. Diday shared her power better in the final and bagged Kazakhstan’s third female gold medal in Fujairah after Nazerke Serik and Valeriya Semyonova.
