ASBC Asian Junior Champion Login Petrov won the best final at the Ferghana Governor Youth Tournament

Uzbekistan hosted a national youth competition in Ferghana where several promising talents won their weight categories. The biggest stars of the Ferghana Governor Youth Tournament were Anvar Boltaboyev and ASBC Asian Junior Champion Login Petrov who both won several international competitions in the past.

The youth national event was named after the Ferghana’s Governor, the Khakim and many of the top boxers joined to the competition from all regions of Uzbekistan. The 2003-2004 born boxers were eligible to attend in the Ferghana Governor Youth Tournament which was Uzbekistan’s next top activity for their talents.

Altogether 164 boxers attended in the Ferghana Governor Youth Tournament where 10 titles have been shared between well-known talents. The lightweight (60kg) was the most popular category in Ferghana, 31 boxers competed for the medals. The bantamweight (56kg), the light welterweight (64kg), the welterweight (69kg) and the middleweight (75kg) were also crowded divisions in the event.

The first gold medal of the Ferghana Governor Youth Tournament was achieved by a local boxer, Mukhammadrizo Abdullayev who triumphed over Mukhammad Meliboyev of Dzhizak in the final of the light flyweight (49kg). The second title was achieved by Sardor Akbarov, another host city’s boxer who defeated four opponents including Akhmadjon Kuziboyev of Khorezm region in the final of the flyweight (52kg).

Anvar Boltaboyev claimed bronze medal at the Fujairah 2019 ASBC Asian Junior Boxing Championships and joined to the youth age group this January. The 17-year-old talent from Khorezm defeated his main rivals as Junior National Cup winner Islombek Ganiyev of Ferghana and Sardor Raimov at the bantamweight (56kg). The title of the lightweight (60kg) was achieved by Tashkent’s Jakhongir Egamberdiyev following he defeated Lazizbek Yuldashev in the final.

Namangan’s Kamronbek Shukurjonov had five contests in the Ferghana Governor Youth Tournament but he won all of them by split decisions and defeated favourites as Yuldoshali Toshpulatov, Sukhrob Abdullayev and Khasan Turdialiyev. Tashkent region’s Samandar Toshpulatov was the main favourite for the gold of the welterweight (69kg) but he was stopped by Kamronbek Turgunboyev of Ferghana in the final.

ASBC Asian Junior Champion Login Petrov was one of the main stars of the Ferghana Governor Youth Tournament but he had to do his very best in the final stages of the middleweight (75kg) against Fazliddin Dekhkonov and another ASBC Asian Junior Champion, Azizbek Tojiyev. Bekhruzbek Polatov used his strength to stop his opponents and won the final against his regional rival, Alpomish Odilov at the light heavyweight (81kg).

Akobir Kakhramonov arrived from a boxing family as many of the Uzbek boxers and won his first national event at the heavyweight (91kg) after beating Mirzajon Akhmedov of Namangan. Samarkand’s lone gold medal in the youth event was achieved by Jakhongir Khasanov who triumphed over Junior National Cup silver medallist Abdulla Almamatov of Tashkent at the super heavyweight (+91kg).
