ASBC Asian Junior Champion Javlonbek Yuldashev wins in the Uzbekistan Youth National Championships

The Uzbekistan Youth National Championships for the 17 and 18-year-old men boxers was held in Tashkent. The event was taking place short after the AIBA Youth World Boxing Championships therefore some of their key boxers had to miss the national event. ASBC Asian Junior Champion Javlonbek Yuldashev performed world class and won his first youth national title in Uzbekistan.
Altogether 220 boxers from all regions of Uzbekistan attended in their Youth National Championships in Tashkent where the 2000 and 2001 were born boys could register to take part. Their strong international level boxers shined in the event in spite of the fact AIBA Youth World Champion Abdumalik Khalokov had to miss the Uzbekistan Youth National Championships.
Eleven champions have been crowned in the Uzbekistan Youth National Championships in Tashkent where the pinweight (46kg) have been added to the event. The powerful Andizhan region topped the team rankings in the Uzbekistan Youth National Championships, Bukhara region became the runner-up and Ferghana region secured the third place among the participating squads.
The first title in the event was achieved by Mamurjon Eshkuvatov of Tashkent region who defeated Barkhastjon Nazarmatov of Ferghana in the final of the pinweight (46kg). Bukhara’s Sukhrob Jumayev had to do his very best to beat Andizhan’s Davronbek Tilaboldiyev in the final of the light flyweight (49kg) which was his first youth national title.
Bukhara’s Umed Jurayev joined to the youth age group this January after his strong junior results but he was not able to achieve his first youth title following his loss to Ferghana’s Khurshidbek Rasuljonov at the flyweight (52kg). Andizhan’s first gold medal was captured by Akim Prizes Youth International Tournament silver medallist Abdulaziz Odilov who triumphed over Namangan’s Sanjarbek Usmonjonov in the final of the bantamweight (56kg).
Jakhongir Yuldashev won the gold medal at the Puerto Princesa 2017 ASBC Asian Confederation Junior Boxing Championships one year ago and after his strong development he shined in the Uzbekistan Youth National Championships. The 17-year-old Andizhan-based boxer was too strong for the defending champion Sardorbek Ganiyev in the final of the lightweight (60kg) and proved he is world class hope.
Andizhan’s next gold medal was achieved by Zhetysu Youth Cup silver medallist Asadbek Shodiboyev who was slightly better than Bukhara’s AIBA Junior World Boxing Championships bronze medallist Halimbek Utegenov in the final of the light welterweight (64kg). Their final was one of the best fights in the entire Uzbekistan Youth National Championships in Tashkent.
Bukhara’s Junior National Championships silver medallist Sukhrobjon Kayimov attended in Russian international youth events and he was tactically better than Saifullo Erkinboyev. ASBC Asian Confederation Junior Boxing Championships silver medallist Temurbek Sadullayev joined to the national team in 2015 but he had to do his very best against Tashkent region’s Zakirkhodja Madiyev in the final of the middleweight (75kg).
Akbarjon Askarov is a relatively unknown boxer but he defeated Ferghana’s Akhrorjon Umarov in the final of the light heavyweight (81kg) while the top favourite Akhrorbek Nishonboyev claimed only bronze medal. Khorezm’s lone gold medal in the Uzbekistan Youth National Championships was taken by Jamshidbek Khudayberganov who defeated Junior National Champion Ikboljon Murodov.
Ferghana’s Temur Atabayev, who claimed bronze medal in the last edition in 2017, secured his first youth gold medal in Uzbekistan. Atabayev did not get the right to attend in Bangkok this April but he proved his very best against Namangan’s ASBC Asian Confederation Junior Boxing Championships silver medallist Jamshidbek Makhmadaliyev and bagged the title of the super heavyweight (+91kg).
