ASBC Asian Confederation Junior Boxing Championships silver medallist Umar Kubanychbek Uulu was the best boxer in the Kyrgyz Youth National Championships

The Kyrgyz Youth National Championships was held in the city of Osh where their future stars such as Umar Kubanychbek Uulu, Nuradin Rustambek Uulu, Musa Teshebayev, Sanjar Seidakmatov, Akhmed Usupov and Adilet Egemberdi Uulu all won their weight classes in the south part of the Republic.
Boxers who were born in 2000 and 2001 were eligible to compete in the Kyrgyz Youth National Championships in Osh. This age group relates already for the 2018 youth competitions which shows the strategic preparation of the Kyrgyz Boxing Federation. Altogether 137 youth male boxers attended in the national event in the historical city of Osh and ten champions have been crowned.
The Kyrgyz Youth National Championships was also the first selection event for the upcoming big events which will be held in 2018 including the next edition of the ASBC Asian Confederation Youth Boxing Championships which will the qualification event for the Buenos Aires 2018 Youth Olympic Games.
Sultan Asankul Uulu was Junior National Champion at the 44kg earlier this year and the 16-year-old boxer joined to the youth boxers. He has put up muscles in the recent months and not only competed at the light flyweight (49kg) but he defeated Osh-based Khusniddin Dadakhodzhayev and Zhumabek Ergeshov in the final stages.
Astashenkov Junior Memorial Tournament winner Musa Teshebayev of Osh region lost his opening contest at the 2017 Kyrgyz Junior National Championships which was a big sensation. Following that loss he increased his rhythm in the trainings and returned in the Kyrgyz Youth National Championships in top shape. The Children of Asia Games competitor defeated strong athletes as Bekzat Azizbekov, Kalys Akelbayev, Islam Nurlanbekov and Aitbek Asan Uulu during his road to the title at the flyweight (52kg).
Bishkek’s Children of Asia Games bronze medallist Sanjar Seidakmatov joined to the youth age group this January but his current skills were enough to beat experienced rivals in all of the national events in 2017. The ASBC Asian Confederation Youth Boxing Championships competitor stopped all of his opponents during his road to the final of the bantamweight (56kg) and walked over to the title as his last rival Asan Abdykadyrov was unable to box against him. Chui region’s Akim Prizes Junior Tournament silver medallist Dastan Ormonov lost his semi-final and achieved only bronze medal in Osh.
Dzhalal-Abad region’s Umar Kubanychbek Uulu claimed silver medal in the 2017 ASBC Asian Confederation Junior Boxing Championships in Puerto Princesa and following that amazing success he was able to win the lightweight (60kg) in the city of Osh. The 16-year-old talent eliminated Junior National Champion Rysbek Bektenov in the semi-final and he needed to do his very best to beat an older rival, Bishkek’s Bayel Toktombayev in the final. Favourites as ASBC Asian Confederation Junior Boxing Championships bronze medallist Aidar Oroskulov and Junior National Champion Azat Marat Uulu travelled back to home in a lack of any medals.
Issyk-Kul region’s ASBC Asian Confederation Junior Boxing Championships bronze medallist Adilet Egemberdi Uulu is Kyrgyzstan’s next big youth hope who moved up to the light welterweight (64kg). The 17-year-old boxer eliminated Osh region’s Heydar Aliyev Junior Cup bronze medallist Sabyrbek Talantbek Uulu in the semi-final and triumphed over Chui region’s Junior National Champion Ernis Atabek Uulu in the final of the event. Children of Asia Games winner Ilgiz Matmusayev claimed only bronze medal in the national event in Osh after his loss to Ernis Atabek Uulu.
Dzhalal-Abad region’s Nuradin Rustambek Uulu was the first boxer in the recent years who was able to win the gold medal in the strong Heydar Aliyev Junior Cup in Azerbaijan this June. The 16-year-old boxer moved up to the welterweight (69kg) controlled all of his contests in the Kyrgyz Youth National Championships including his final fight against Osh region’s Shokhrukh Beknazarov.
Chui region’s Youth National Champion and Issyk-Kul Junior Cup winner Dastan Zhumabek Uulu won also the Kyrgyz Youth National Spartakyad earlier this year. The Kyrgyz middleweight (75kg) hope, who proved sensational performance in the whole year, stopped Talas region’s Junior National Champion Kerimbay Erkinov in the semi-final and defeated Bektur Maratbekov in the final of the event.
Chui region’s Beket Makhmutov Youth Tournament silver medallist Ilyaz Niyazov stopped all of his rivals in the Kyrgyz Youth National Spartakyad earlier this year and he opened the Youth National Championships with two quick victories against Temirlan Sultanaliyev and Urmat Bektursunov. The 17-year-old light heavyweight (81kg) boxer had to box until the end of the final bell against Junior National Champion Islam Abdykadyr Uulu but his efforts were enough to beat his younger rival.
Bishkek’s Islam Bektenov took silver medal in the Kyrgyz Youth National Spartakyad at the super heavyweight (+91kg) this May. The 17-year-old boxer moved back one category and stopped Chui region’s Akzhol Raimkulov in the semi-final and walked over to the title against Osh region’s Youth National Spartakyad silver medallist Bekali Abdisatarov.
Kyrgyzstan had several problems to find a top boxer at the super heavyweight (+91kg) in the recent years but Akhmed Usupov of Bishkek could be their best future weapon. The 16-year-old boxer, who won the Margilan International Junior Tournament in Uzbekistan and achieved bronze in the ASBC Asian Confederation Junior Boxing Championships, was able to beat Bishkek’s Bunyod Yansupov in a close final.
