Amazing 10 Uzbek gold medals in the Lebedev & Rakhmanov Tournament in Yaroslavl

Uzbekistan sent strong boxers to the 37th edition of the Aleksandr Lebedev & Valentin Rakhmanov Tournament to Yaroslavl which city is located in the Russian Federation. The competition was held for several age groups but the Uzbeks dominated the junior section where all of their 10 boxers won the titles in Yaroslavl.
Uzbekistan claimed three gold medals in the ASBC Asian Confederation Junior Boxing Championships in Puerto Princesa with the leading of their coach Mr. Hamid Tangribergenov. Their juniors have been preparing already to the main goals of 2018 and one of their station in the preparation was the Aleksandr Lebedev & Valentin Rakhmanov Tournament in Yaroslavl.
Uzbekistan’s first title was achieved by Akhmadjon Akhmedov who defeated Russia’s Gusein Kurbanmagomedov 3:0 at the light flyweight (48kg) in Yaroslav. The 15-year-old boxer won bronze medal in the last edition of the Uzbek Junior National Championships but this time he was too quick for his mainly Russian opponents.
Uzbekistan’s Koblanbay Turiboyev did not box too much time in the final of the flyweight (50kg) against Russia’s Maksim Novikov when his Cherepovets-based opponent abandoned their unequal contest. Their third gold medal was taken by Farkhat Eshmakhambetov who outscored Russia’s Aleksey Rulev in the final of the light bantamweight (52kg).
Uzbekistan’s best junior hope Ruslan Abdullaev competed in the ASBC Asian Confederation Junior Boxing Championships in Puerto Princesa at the light flyweight (48kg) but in the recent four months he moved up to the bantamweight (54kg). The young Uzbek talent, who celebrated his 15th birthday only a few weeks ago, was too strong for Russia’s Rostov-based Ilia Ovsyannikov in the final of the Lebedev & Rakhmanov Tournament.
Margilan International Junior Tournament bronze medallist Asadbek Abdiraimov also amazed the judges in the Aleksandr Lebedev & Valentin Rakhmanov Tournament in Yaroslavl. The 15-year-old featherweight (57kg) talent eliminated Ruslan Khalilov in the semi-final and continued his winning path against Russia’s Vladimir Suspitsin in the title contest.
Uzbekistan’s Farrukh Khasanov eliminated Belarus’ Ivan Pigul in the semi-final and dominated his final against Russia’s Aleksey Merekin. Login Petrov is Uzbekistan’s new light welterweight (63kg) boxer in the junior squad but his dominancy was amazing against Yevgeniy Ikonnikov and Fedor Silantyev in the final stages of the Aleksandr Lebedev & Valentin Rakhmanov Tournament in Yaroslavl.
Nurislom Ismoilov achieved the gold medal at the light welterweight (63kg) in the ASBC Asian Confederation Junior Boxing Championships in Puerto Princesa four months ago as a junior who is spending his first year in this age group. The 15-year-old talent moved up to the welterweight (66kg) and continued his winning path in the Lebedev & Rakhmanov Tournament where he stopped Russia’s Ivan Bychkov in the final.
Uzbekistan’s next gold medal was achieved by Jakhongir Zokirov at the light middleweight (70kg) where he was too strong for Russia’s Kostroma-based Andrei Leontyev. The Uzbek delegation’s tenth title in the Aleksandr Lebedev & Valentin Rakhmanov Tournament was delivered by Shokhjakhon Abdullaev who also stopped Russia’s Egor Brovkin in the final of the middleweight (75kg).
