AIBA Extraordinary Congress in Lausanne

ASBC President Mr. Serik Konakbayev attended in the historical AIBA Extraordinary Congress which approved professional boxers in the Olympic Games

The President of the Asian Boxing Confederation (ASBC) and Vice-President of the International Boxing Association (AIBA) Mr. Serik Konakbayev attended in the AIBA Extraordinary Congress in Lausanne, Switzerland which will was an important step in the world’s boxing life.
The congress decided a milestone question before the boxing tournament of the Rio 2016 Olympic Games in Lausanne. The professional boxers without any limit and special criteria can join back to the AIBA competitions in the future which are an important step to unite the world’s boxing life. The non-AIBA boxers can take part in the upcoming Rio 2016 Olympic Games and in the last quota competition in the APB & WSB Qualification Event which will be held in Vargas, Venezuela between 3-8 July.
Mr. Serik Konakbayev negotiated with leaders of the boxing world including AIBA President Dr. Ching-Kuo Wu during his stay in Lausanne and met with the EC members of the Asian Boxing Confederation and the Presidents of the affiliated national federations of the Asian Boxing Confederation.
