Strong Kazakh boxers are aiming for titles in the upcoming ASBC Asian Confederation Youth Boxing Championships
One of the boxing powers of our continent the Kazakh team will be attending with maximum number of 20 boxers in the upcoming ASBC Asian Confederation Youth Boxing Championships. Their women and men youth team is one of the strongest in the continent and their coaches are expecting gold medals and quotas for the Youth Olympic Games.
The ASBC Asian Confederation Youth Boxing Championships will be starting in Bangkok on April 21 with its first competition day. The Kazakh team contains medallists from the last AIBA Women’s Youth World Boxing Championships, gold medallist from the 2016 Children of Asia Games and from the Puerto Princesa 2017 ASBC Asian Confederation Junior Boxing Championships.
Kazakhstan claimed six gold medals in the 2016 edition of the ASBC Asian Confederation Youth Boxing Championships in Pavlodar and their boxers won two titles in the Bangkok 2017 ASBC Asian Confederation Youth Boxing Championships where the Toltayev brothers reached the top of the podium.
Their women boxers attended in the Carpatian Women’s Box Cup in Ukraine where several of their hopes won the titles. The current Kazakh men’s youth team dominated the Kenes Omarov Youth Memorial Tournament and the Bornemissza Youth Memorial Tournament in Hungary last month which was their last preparation event.
Zhansaya Abdraimova robbed to the world of boxing one year ago and she proved her strong technique in the Guwahati 2017 AIBA Women’s Youth World Boxing Championships where she claimed bronze medal. Laura Yessenkeldi is also an experienced team member who has been competing in the international events since 2016.
Following her impressive junior career Mariya Gladkova joined to the youth age group in January and will be there at the lightweight (60kg) in Bangkok. Nadezhda Ryabets claimed gold medal in the Taipei 2015 AIBA Women’s Junior World Boxing Championships and since then she moved up to the middleweight (75kg) where she is the top favourite in the ASBC Asian Confederation Youth Boxing Championships.
Dina Islambekova achieved silver medal at the Guwahati 2017 AIBA Women’s Youth World Boxing Championships and the strong heavyweight (+81kg) boxer is one of their key member in Bangkok as well. Kazakhstan’s women boxing team still contains newcomer Anel Kudaibergen (48kg), Aizada Yeslyamgali (54kg), Zhuldyz Toikova (64kg), Maiya Beisebayeva (69kg) and Gulsaya Yerzhan (81kg).
Makhmud Sabyrkhan claimed gold medal in the Puerto Princesa 2017 ASBC Asian Confederation Junior Boxing Championships and quickly adopted the level of the youth boxers. Talgat Syrymbetov was his teammate also in Puerto Princesa and received the right to box for Kazakhstan at the flyweight (52kg) in Bangkok.
ASBC Asian Junior Champion Biybars Zheksen was also born in 2001 as Sabyrkhan and Syrymbetov and has got all of the skill to beat all of his rivals at the bantamweight (56kg). Rakhat Seitzhan (60kg) and Talgat Shayken (64kg) are both experienced boxers in the international level and could be there in the final stages of the event.
Yermakhan Zhakpekov claimed gold medal in the 2016 Children of Asia Games and he attended also in the last edition of the ASBC Asian Confederation Youth Boxing Championships. The 18-year-old welterweight (69kg) boxer was amazing in the preparation events on the road to Bangkok and his coaches are expecting gold medal from him.
Bornemissza Youth Memorial Tournament winner Nurbek Oralbay (75kg), ASBC Asian Junior Champion 17-year-old Sagyndyk Togambay (81kg), Children of Asia Games winner Aibek Oralbay (91kg) and another Children of Asia Games gold medallist talent Damir Toybay (+91kg) are also among the favourites in Bangkok.
