Kazakhstan’s Akhmet Ussen is on the golden pathway to take his second Asian title

Kazakhstan was perfect in the afternoon session of the fifth competition day at the ASBC Asian U22 & Youth Boxing Championships in Astana, Kazakhstan.
India’s Aryan and Uzbekistan’s Shakarboy Jurayev opened the first contest in the fifth competition day in Astana and their flyweight (51kg) quarter-final was excellent. After the first round, Jurayev changed his style, he attacked more but this was perfect for the Indian who used his counter-punches to stop him. Aryan’s footwork was outstanding today and he claimed the medal which is a better result for the Indian than in the last edition.
Kyrgyzstan’s Zafarbek Kamilov eliminated his top Tajik rival, Meroj Sufijonov in the preliminary round and he had another difficult job against Iran’s Mehdi Kazemi. The 18-year-old Kyrgyz started the bout better but the Iranian also adopted the rhythm and he had some effective hooks in the first and second rounds. Kamilov gave in everything in the third round and he was able to turn back the contest with an outstanding finish in Astana.
Jordan’s best youth team member, Qais Eshish had excellent footwork in the first round and he had the advantage on the scorecards but his opponent, Iran’s Reza Fazli Sani had a comeback in the second. Eshish mobilized all of his remaining energies and he was able to win this important quarter-final bout in Astana, earning a medal in the event.
Kyrgyzstan’s Nurbolot Sultanov landed several clear shots in the first round against and he tried to keep the control against Tajikistan’s Damir Muybalikhonov in the battle of the neighbours. The Tajik featherweight (57kg) boxer used his counter-attacking style in the second round and he landed his jabs from his best distance and he won their tight bout.
Nodirbek Allaberganov delivered surprises in their recent Youth National Championships and he tried to get the control in the first round against India’s Jatin. The Uzbek featherweight (57kg) boxer had a very difficult battle today due to Jatin’s actions in the first and second rounds but his finish guaranteed his success in Astana.
Kazakhstan’s Akhmet Ussen found the best fighting range in the second round against South Korea’s Lee Min Jae and he managed to win their quarter-final earlier than the last gong. Tajikistan’s Ruslan Gafurov, a multiple ASBC medallist, smashed Chinese Taipei’s Lai Chi Lin and he also secured his place in the semi-finals of the light welterweight (63.5kg).
Kazakhstan’s Oner Seilkhan is one of their best youth boxers who had the control against Kyrgyzstan’s Bekmyrza Abdukarimov today and after two rounds, the local boy had the advantage of 20:18. The 18-year-old Kazakh light middleweight (71kg) boxer launched his best hooks to stop his opponent’s attacks successfully.
China’s Yideresi Yideresi is another Xinjiang-based boxer in their national team who opened the first round better than South Korea’s Jo Kwon Hee in the last light middleweight (71kg) quarter-final today. The Chinese boxer caught his rival with a right-handed jab in the third round when the referee counted the Korean therefore Yideresi managed to win this fight. Kyrgyzstan’s Mukhammadaziz Zakirov competed for his nation already at the 2019 ASBC Asian Schoolboys Boxing Championships but his taller opponent, South Korea’s Park Dam Hyeon was better in the opening round. Zakirov was more aggressive in the second round and he had the chance to win this contest before the last three minutes. The Kyrgyz light heavyweight (80kg) boxer demonstrated his power in the last round to turn back this contest.
