Sydyk, Laxmi, Yunusova and Abyldayeva all are medallists in the women’s youth event in Astana

The first medals in the women’s youth part of the ASBC Asian U22 & Youth Boxing Championships are also revealed in Astana, Kazakhstan and five countries are now in medal positions.
Kazakhstan’s Sanzhar-Ali Begaliyev and Uzbekistan’s Djafarbek Shakhbazov both won Asian junior titles during their career. The older Kazakh had great footwork in the first round and his counter-attacks were precise against the attacking Uzbek therefore Begaliyev had the advantage after six minutes of fight. The 18-year-old Kazakh was well-prepared tactically from his rival and he was slightly better in their final-level middleweight (75kg) contest.
China’s Ayi A Ersi Kanjiebayi lives and trains in the Xinjiang region, not far from Kazakhstan and he felt the support of the crowd in Astana. The Chinese middleweight (75kg) boxer was too smart for Iraq’s Hayder Qasim Chaloob and he managed to win his nation’s first medal in Astana.
Uzbekistan’s Akmaljon Isroilov followed the strategy against India’s Hemant Sangwan and he overcame his opponent in the attacks in the first round effectively. The Uzbek cruiserweight (86kg) boxer had the control of this contest and he had 20:18 advantage in most of the scorecards after two rounds.
Mongolia’s most experienced female youth boxer, Enkh-Amgalan Nomundari arrived in Astana with high medal expectations and she has accomplished that objective. She had a tactical first round against Vietnam’s Song Thi Kim Ngan but from the second, she was stronger and more punctual to win this quarter-final at the light flyweight (50kg).
India’s Laxmi had a super quick RSC success over South Korea’s Kim Eun Ji at the women’s light flyweight (50kg) before her teammate, Tamanna faced Chinese Taipei’s Pan Yan Fei in the next bout. The southpaw from Chinese Taipei had excellent technical skills and she proved her progress but Tamanna’s strength was decisive today.
Uzbekistan’s Uzukjamol Yunusova, the Asian Junior Champion, met with a stronger resistance than she expected, the 17-year-old Alina Sizonenko had also good jabs in the first round. The more experienced Uzbek used various combinations against the tiring Kyrgyz talent and she was able to win this quarter-final today.
Kazakhstan’s Ayazhan Sydyk is a southpaw boxer from the Karagandy region who joined the youth age group this January. She moved down to the featherweight (57kg) in the previous months and she had the advantage after three minutes against Chinese Taipei’s Lin Chian You. The taller Kazakh controlled all of the exchanges and her combinations were decisive in the second round to win the fight by RSC.
Kyrgyzstan’s Medina Abyldayeva won the Ibraimov Prizes Women’s Youth Tournament in Kazakhstan earlier this year but she did not find the best weapon in the first round against Vietnam’s Tran Thi Truc Han. The most experienced Kyrgyz female boxer caught Tran with a heavy left-handed jab in the second round and Abyldayeva’s speed in the third made a U-turn in this quarter-final bout.
