AIBA 2-star Referee & Judge Course was held in Guwahati during the Indian Open International Boxing Tournament
The 2nd edition of the Indian Open International Boxing Tournament was in the city of Guwahati, Assam with a great success and during the event an important AIBA 2-star Referee & Judge Course took place. Altogether 24 applicants attended from India, Turkmenistan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Singapore in the educational program in Guwahati where eight women and ten men boxers have been crowned in the competition.
Experienced officials such as Mr. Andrew Caulfield of Scotland and Mr. David Pike of Australia were the Instructors of the AIBA 2-star Referee & Judge Course and led all meetings in Guwahati.
The participants of the AIBA 2-star Referee & Judge Course had theoretical and practical lessons during the education. The practical part of the Course and their examination was the Indian Open International Boxing Tournament itself.
Current certified and active AIBA 1-star R&Js who certified for at least 12 months or current AIBA 2-star R&Js who are not active in the international level since 2012, were eligible to take part in the 2-star AIBA Refereeing & Judging Course in India.
The first AIBA 2-star Referee & Judge Course in 2019 was held in the historical city of Cairo in Egypt after the Arab Youth Boxing Championships earlier this year and the Indian educational program was the next activity.
