Zhandaulet Sarsenbayev caused the main sensation at the Kazakhstan Elite National Championships on Day3

Zhandaulet Sarsenbayev caused the main surprise at the Kazakhstan Elite National Championships in the city of Karagandy on Day3 after beating the top favourite Asian U22 Champion Nursultan Altynbek.
Karagandy hosts usually the Galym Zharylgapov Memorial Tournament in the month of December but the regional federation supported to arrange the Kazakhstan Elite National Championships as one of the last events of the year.
The Kazakh elite boxers impressed in the last edition of the ASBC Asian Elite Boxing Championships earning several titles in Chiang Mai, Thailand. Their boxers also achieved medals in the recent Paris Olympic Games earlier this summer.
Akmola region’s Timur Kabdeshov impressed once again in the Kazakhstan Elite National Championships in Karagandy, he achieved his second success in the event after beating Sultan Orynbasar at the bantamweight (54kg).
Kenzhe Muratuly competed for Kazakhstan in big championships as well and he became the next winner at the bantamweight (54kg) on Day3, he eliminated Yeldar Adil while Yerassyl Dauletbay made a surprise success against Islam Mashkentayev of Pavlodar region.
The ASBC Asian U22 Champion Nursultan Altynbek is Kazakhstan’s elite national team member who arrived to Karagandy to take his next gold medal. The 21-year-old boxer was not able to do his very best against Zhandaulet Sarsenbayev and he had an early exit from the National Championships.
The boxers from the Karagandy region such as Tursynbek Tazhibayev (54kg), Zhasurbek Anarbayev (57kg), and Didar Turebekov (57kg) all managed to beat their opponents in the third day of boxing.
Pavlodar region’s Yerbolat Sabyr had difficulties in the first round against Bakhtiyar Anas of Almaty but the Youth World silver medallist featherweight (57kg) boxer turned up the heat in time to stop his rival in the second.
The lightweight (60kg) is a super strong category at the Kazakhstan National Championships in Karagandy where the Tokyo Olympian Serik Temirzhanov won his second contest, he overwhelmed Meirzhan Aydar at the Round of 16.
Another well-experienced boxer, Adilet Kurmetov had a more difficult success against Zhanarys Orynbay but Chingiz Mussinov, Talgat Syrymbetov, Alimzhan Beskempir and Yevgeniy Pavlov all secured their places in the quarter-finals of the lightweight (60kg).
Astana’s Temirlan Mukatayev has one of the top punching powers at the cruiserweight (86kg) and the two-time Asian Youth Champion proved his superiority against Yerkebulan Akimbay, stopping his opponent in the beginning of the second round.
Dauren Mamyr of Shymkent, Ibragim Betayev of Astana and Serzhan Yerkin of Almaty all won their cruiserweight (86kg) preliminaries in Karagandy.
