Yemen’s Boxing Family celebrates its Independence Day

Yemen’s Boxing Family celebrates its Independence Day which is an important milestone in the country. The whole ASBC management are sending their best wishes to the Yemen Boxing Federation on their Declaration of Independence Day.

The Independence Day is an official national holiday in Yemen and it is celebrated on November 30 every year. The Independence Day marks the declaration of independence from the United Kingdom which was held in 1967. Yemen has the key strategic location and it was possessed by the British between 1839 and 1967.

Yemen is one of the oldest civilizations in the region and after the colonial era, the country unified in 1990 when South Yemen and North Yemen signed the unification documents. The national holiday celebrates throughout the country and holds many parades and different kind of state celebrations.

Yemen joined to the boxing business in the 1990s and their hopes competed in the Arab Games, Arab Championships and ASBC Asian Boxing Championships. One of their young and new male sensations Sil Ghaleb Mohammed Al-Qarnas achieved gold medal at the 2017 Arab Youth Boxing Championships and became the first ever boxer from Yemen who could win a contest in an ASBC Asian Championships.

Yemen competed at the Bangkok 2019 ASBC Asian Elite Boxing Championships, several of the junior and youth editions of the ASBC events in the previous years. Their best athletes also attended in international events in Sudan, in Egypt, in China, in Russia, in Jordan and some other countries in the last eight years.
