Yemen Boxing Federation scheduled its national events

Yemen Boxing Federation continued its activities with training camps and preparations to the forthcoming goals. Their new editions of the National Boxing Championships are scheduled according to the management of the Yemen Boxing Federation. The junior, youth and elite national events all will be held in the upcoming weeks after the quarantine period.  

Yemen is planning to host its Youth & Junior National Championships in the city of Aden later in the month. Yemen Boxing Federation’s next event will be the Elite National Championships in Sanaa in the end of November. The events are also preparations for the Arab Boxing Championships and also at the World Olympic Boxing Qualifying Event which is scheduled to be held on May 2021.

Yemen’s best boxer Sil Ghaleb Mohammad Al-Qarnas is only 20-year-old but he is the country’s No.1 and trains hard to the upcoming events in spite of the difficulties which affected his preparations in the recent half year. Al-Qarnas won the 2017 Arab Youth Boxing Championships as first boxer from Yemen in the history of the competition. He has been preparing to the national event with full speed to defend his throne in the competition.

Yemen competed at the Bangkok 2019 ASBC Asian Elite Boxing Championships and their best athletes attended also in international events in Sudan, in Egypt, in Russia, in Jordan and some other countries in the recent years. Their boxers have got good fighting spirit and have got the potential to showcase talents and better results in the next events. Yemen’s best categories are the flyweight (52kg), the featherweight (57kg) and the lightweight (63kg) among the Olympic divisions and all of them are scheduled in the National Boxing Championships. More than 600 boxers train in the country’s boxing gyms every week to increase their technical knowledge.
